Every year, an exclusive club made entirely of people named Ian gathers for its annual meeting. This year, one of the Ians is murdered. Distrusting the police, the club hires Laura to investigate instead. But as more Ians begin turning up dead, Laura finds herself trapped in a bizarre world of club politics, identical suspects, and a single rule the Ians can’t seem to follow: no Ian is supposed to kill another Ian.

Henry’s orders to stay out of the case, Laura gathers the key witnesses at Neptune Café with the promise of free coffee and launches her own investigation. As the mystery unravels, Laura resorts to an unconventional—and undeniably immoral—plan to catch the culprit.
