The Phoenix Mercury had a disappointing 2026 relative to their standard, yet Alyssa Thomas continued to be something the WNBA has never seen.

A 14.3 PPG, 8.5 APG, 7.8 APG, 1.3 SPG campaign for most would be a career year, but for Alyssa Thomas it was just consistency — and is likely one she isn’t “fully” proud of due to the teams performance and her desire to compete for a championship, not just make the Playoffs.

That standard and mindset is why she is who she is in the pantheon of women’s basketball, and, though this season left a lot to be desired from Phoenix, we’ll be contextualizing what another dominant season for Alyssa was.

Gil, Stephen, and Kevin take a closer look at the 2026 campaign from Alyssa Thomas. Follow the show: @PHNX_Mercury, @GilMcGregor_, @StephenPG3 and @KevoPosts!
