    Levels of Encouragement

    1Facial – smile, wink, raise eye brows

    TTouch – handshake, pat on back, squeeze shoulder

    3General – you are doing a good job

    4Specific – you are doing a good job of working with the Youth, I heard one brag on how you were teaching the Bible

    5Spiritual

    a. quote scripture

    b. pray for them where they can hear

    c. tell them you are being obedient to what God wants you to do for them

    Mentors are people who share their wisdom to provide insight and guidance as a person encounters challenges along their journey.

    • · Give advice (their journey, what they experienced)
    • · talk through problems
    • · mentee drives the relationship
    • · not always timebound

    Coaches often have expertise in the same field as the people they're helping. They're usually trained as coaches and have strong management skills.

    • · Develop specific skills
    • · provide feedback
    • · coach drives the relationship
    • · timebound relationship

    1. Someone you are helping
    2. Someone helping you
    3. Jesus helping everyone

    So He got up from supper, laid aside His robe, took a towel, and tied it around Himself. Next, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples' feet and to dry them with the towel tied around Him. John 13:4-5
