  • Alastair Dallas Interview - Former Walt Disney Imagineer

    Welcome, Alastair Dallas, a former Walt Disney Imagineer and author of “Inventing Disneyland.” Alastair began his career at the WED Architectural Department in 1975, where he contributed to the design of Disneyland’s Space Mountain. He later worked on the construction of Epcot Center, including the entrance plaza and the Odyssey Restaurant.

    During his time at Epcot, Alastair collaborated with Imagineer Gordon Hoopes on the development of Spaceship Earth and the main entrance complex, including the Epcot Monorail Station. In 1982, he moved on to Tokyo Disneyland, where he served as a Quality Assurance Officer.

    We are thrilled to have Alastair join us to share his remarkable career and the fascinating stories from his time at WED Enterprises, now known as Walt Disney Imagineering.

    Welcome former Walt Disney Imagineer Scott Girard to the third episode of The WDW Connection Show! We’re thrilled to have Scott join us to discuss his incredible career at WED Enterprises / Walt Disney Imagineering.

    As a landscape architect, Scott played a crucial role in making Walt Disney World a beautiful destination. He spent decades with the company creating (and growing!) the magic. Notably, he had the opportunity to meet Walt Disney and worked closely with Roy Disney during the construction of Walt Disney World.

    Throughout his career, Scott contributed to several major projects that helped shape the aesthetic of Walt Disney World, beautifying the exterior areas at the parks, attractions, and resorts. He also shares the fascinating story of his involvement in relocating the Liberty Oak tree from a pasture in Central Florida to its current home in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom.
