Your kids are growing up—and sometimes, as a working mom, it can feel like you're missing it. You miss the school event because you have to work. You can't make every game or activity. You look at your kids and suddenly realize how quickly the years are passing, and that familiar mom guilt starts creeping in. But missing a moment is not the same thing as missing your child's childhood. In this episode of the Faith Led Working Moms Podcast, we're talking about the emotional weight that can come with being a working mom and feeling like you're not there for enough of your children's lives. Because your child's childhood isn't made up of the handful of moments you couldn't be there for. It's made up of years of relationship—and so much of that relationship is built in the ordinary moments of everyday life. We'll talk about how to: Separate disappointment from mom guilt when you miss something importantStop measuring your motherhood by the moments you couldn't be there forRecognize the ordinary moments of connection that are already happeningResist comparing your motherhood to what other moms seem to be doingTrust God with the moments you can't controlBe present for the moments God has actually placed in front of you Psalm 90:12 reminds us: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Motherhood isn't about being everywhere or experiencing every moment. It's about asking God for wisdom with the days, responsibilities, and relationships He's entrusted to you. You may have missed a moment. But you are not missing your child's childhood. You're living it with them. Scripture Mentioned Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” A Reminder for the Working Mom You don't have to be present for every moment to be a present mom. You don't have to attend every event, remember every milestone, or make every moment meaningful. Your kids are not measuring your motherhood by a list of moments you attended. They are growing up in relationship with you. So don't spend so much time grieving the moments you missed that you miss the moments happening right in front of you. Receive the childhood your kids are actually having. Trust God with what you can't control. And be fully present for the moments He has given you. You may have missed a moment, but you are not missing your child's childhood.
