The Toronto Maple Leafs blow a two-goal third-period lead and fall 5-4 in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres, wasting a spectacular hat trick from Kirill Marchenko! Zack Phillips is live for another edition of Leafs Nation After Dark to break down a frustrating night at Scotiabank Arena and another game that raises serious questions about Toronto's ability to protect a lead.

Marchenko stole the show with three goals, including a highlight-reel power-play marker, while Auston Matthews opened the scoring and extended his point streak to six games. The Leafs carried a 4-2 lead into the third period, but goals from Dennis Gilbert and Mattias Samuelsson brought Buffalo back before Owen Power completed the comeback with the overtime winner. Jack Quinn led the Sabres with four points, including two goals, as Toronto suffered another disappointing defensive collapse.

Former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton joins Zack to break down Sergei Bobrovsky's 29-save performance, the Maple Leafs' defensive breakdowns, and what went wrong as Buffalo took control in the third period. They'll also discuss Jim Hiller's lineup adjustments, whether the new forward combinations showed promise, and how Toronto can find more consistency moving forward.

Plus, Zack reacts to John Tavares leaving the game with an injury after a collision with Josh Norris, the impact of Chris Tanev's continued absence, and what this latest loss means for a Maple Leafs team now sitting at 3-3-2 through eight games.
