Dave Chappelle Biography Flash a weekly Biography. Dave Chappelle is entering a busy and potentially significant new chapter, with a fall arena tour that could become one of the largest live comedy runs of his career. OutLoud Culture reports that Chappelle has announced seven arena dates beginning October 20 in Nashville, continuing through Charlotte, Toronto, Louisville, Austin, and Houston, and concluding November 6 at Madison Square Garden. That performance will open the New York Comedy Festival. The shows are advertised as phone free, with audiences placing devices in locked Yondr pouches. Before the arena tour begins, Live Nation lists Chappelle for a Friday, October 16 appearance at YS Firehouse in Yellow Springs, Ohio, billed as Working Out Karmageddon. The event appears to be a live stand up performance and may offer a look at material he is developing, although no verified details about the content have been released. Chappelle is also scheduled for the inaugural Fastball Comedy Festival at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, on October 17 and 18. Phoenix New Times reports that he will headline alongside Bill Burr, Tom Segura, Andrew Santino, and Rachel Feinstein. The festival is designed as a recurring event, so Chappelle’s participation could help establish it as a major comedy destination. His appearance also arrives amid renewed public debate about his past comments concerning transgender people. That debate has intensified online following criticism of Shane Gillis’s Saturday Night Live monologue. News.com.au reports that social media users compared Gillis’s material about women’s gym clothing with a controversial Chappelle routine from his 2004 HBO special, Killin Them Softly. The discussion concerns Chappelle’s cultural influence, but it is not a new statement or action by Chappelle, and there is no verified indication that he has responded. Several YouTube videos and gossip discussions are also recirculating claims about Chappelle’s views on Hollywood, Kevin Hart, and Sean Combs. Those reports are commentary and speculation rather than confirmed news, with no reliable evidence of a new Chappelle announcement or business venture in the past few days. Thank you for listening.
