• 03.If You Feel Overwhelmed, Start Here: The 4 Seasons of Elderly Aging + What Matters Now
    Feb 23 2026

Friend, if you’ve ever left a visit with your parents feeling that tight knot in your chest — like, “Something’s changing… and I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do next” — this episode is for you.

Today I’m introducing the framework I use on this podcast: The 4 Seasons of Support (and the 4 seasons of aging). When you can name the season your parent is in, you stop spiraling, you start planning, and you get that quiet confidence that you’re not missing something important.

    Here are the seasons:

    • Spring = Awareness (they’re doing well, you’re noticing)

    • Summer = Oversight (they’re independent, but need monitoring)

    • Fall = Management (they’re independent-ish, but need active support)

    • Winter = Full Care (full support needed — and experts usually lead here)

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Why labeling the season instantly reduces guilt and overwhelm

    • How knowing the season helps you plan today and tomorrow (without panic about the future)

    • How to use seasons language to communicate clearly with siblings and family (“Here’s where Mom is right now…”)

    • How to spot when a parent shifts seasons — and what to do when that happens

    • How this podcast will be structured so you can quickly find episodes that match your parent’s season

My heart for you is simple: you don’t need to predict everything. You just need the right next step for the season you’re in — and a plan that brings peace.

  • 02. Holiday Shock: The First Planning Step Before Small Changes in Your Aging Parent Become Bigger Ones
    Feb 23 2026

Were you shocked by the changes you noticed in your aging parent over the holidays? Did something feel… different? Are you quietly wondering what this means — and how you’re supposed to navigate what’s coming next?

You’re not overreacting. And you’re not alone.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about Holiday Shock — that moment when you realize your elderly parent may be starting to decline in small but noticeable ways.

Instead of spiraling or avoiding it, I’m walking you through the first planning step you should take to protect your aging parent’s safety while still honoring their independence.

    Inside this episode, you’ll learn:

    • How to move from shock to clarity
    • The first calm, practical planning step to take
    • How to begin laying a foundation for better communication
    • Why early planning leads to wiser decisions and better outcomes in the years ahead

This isn’t about taking over. It’s about noticing early, planning wisely, and protecting independence with intention.

Take a listen — and if you know another daughter who had that “holiday moment,” please share this episode with her.
