Week 5 gave us chaos, statement wins, major questions, and a clearer picture of who we actually trust in college football.
On this episode of 54 Yards, Cam and Carlos break down the biggest results from the weekend and debate which teams are real contenders — and which ones might be living off reputation.
We get into Miami’s 41–13 win over Clemson and whether the Hurricanes are now the clear team to beat in the ACC, Missouri dominating Florida 45–17, Alabama looking like one of the best teams in the country, and Jeremiah Smith continuing to put up ridiculous numbers for Ohio State.
Then we head into the Big 12 to talk Texas Tech, Colorado, Houston, BYU, Baylor and the conference race before discussing Notre Dame, USC, Penn State’s shocking loss to Northwestern, Michigan’s continued offensive struggles, and several other Week 5 storylines.
To close the show, we turn our attention toward Red River. Oklahoma’s offense has plenty of questions entering the matchup, Texas has championship expectations, and Cam and Carlos discuss why records, rankings and statistics can all go out the window when Texas and Oklahoma meet in Dallas.
We also give the four teams we currently trust the most to win the National Championship.
