Leigh Diffey and Jeff Burton join Door Bumper Clear, and after a wild weekend at Charlotte, there was a lot to get into.

Jeff opens up about the biggest regret of his career: rushing out of victory lane after his first win at Texas, and skipping victory lane entirely when his brother Ward won the Daytona 500. He also explains why a $100 bill signed “first driver contract” by Richard Childress is hanging in his office.

Leigh tells the story of trying to set up a day with Ward Burton, and the text reply that came back. He also runs through the nicknames he’s picked up over the years, including a few you won’t hear on TV.

Then the conversation turns to the Chase. Kyle Larson didn’t win at Charlotte and still extended his lead. Chase Briscoe said he’d attack Larson from the start and did. And Leigh says he’s never seen Christopher Bell that mad after a race. Jeff explains why Talladega could turn into a chess match with a new rules package and no practice. He also says why he thinks “our sport made a mistake” trying to look like other sports.
