    Quote

“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love” – Brene Brown

    Introduction

Today’s topic – is about positive self-talk and the power it can have over the life you experience.

Most of us, along the way, have had a family member or school mate say something hurtful that may play in our minds. Some of us, who have experienced abusive environments or toxic relationships or dysfunctional families have had to endure exposure to years of negative and damaging messages.

Over time, we are at risk of repeating those messages long after the original

author no longer has the same access to us.

This episode is an opportunity to hit the re-fresh button on your internal messages

And start replacing old damaging messages with new encouraging, supportive,

    And uplifting messages.

I have spoken a lot about positive affirmations, and gratitude on other Jessie’s World episodes. But today we are going to dive deep into the types of conversations we have with ourselves and how those conversations manaifest in the world – shaping our life much more than we are aware of.

“The inner speech, your thoughts, can cause you to be rich or poor, loved or unloved, happy or unhappy, attractive or unattractive, powerful or weak” – Ralph Charell

Be sure to follow me on IG @jessicavibez and follow our show @JessiesWorldXOQuote“The key to growth is to learn to make promises, and then – to keep them!” Stephen Convoy Topic IntroductionToday’s topic is about the promises we make, and do not make, to ourselves. Why promises are important. Why we do not make them. And if we do make them – why we do not keep them, and what impact that has on us.Then we are going to work to develop the muscle of making, and keeping, promises to ourselves in our personal and professional lives. As we do this more and more we will develop excellent success habits and even improve our ability to confidently make commitments to others and fulfill those commitments, deepening our relationships and improving our overall quality of life. Are you ready for another epic transformative process – let’s get into it!(Possible Tessy Time – ON TOPIC) But FirstThat’s right folks, this is one of those coveted episodes where we will be having Tessy Time … you’re nah ready fi dis yet famz.Okay – today’s Tessy Topic – misinformation!!!I said it.Yes long before we had the term ‘fake news’ floating around, we had old adages, self-defeating quotes, limiting beliefs, and general mind poison – AND NO ONE CALLED IT OUT.Well famz, today I am calling it out. This saying “a promise is a comfort to a fool” is often mistaken as do not trust anyone or their promises ever and that is just too sinical an outlook for me to accept. While humans by nature are flawed, and therefore will not, even if entirely good intentioned, be able to fulfill every promise they ever make, the view that then no one should ever make or accept a promise lowers our bar and expectations as humans of other humans, and sometimes of ourselves, to an unacceptably low level.Growing up I would hear adults around me say, in response to a request, “I will try, but I am not promising anything.” By nature of the fact that we as humans are flawed, so a reasonable flexibility for human error is assumed with every healthy promise giver and receiver, then there is no need for skeptical half hearted agreements. By the very nature of saying I am not promising you are saying you may not try so then why even start the sentence with ‘I will try’ because essentially you may not… and that is why you won’t promise. No one likes breaking promises, but to live in a society where no one trusts their own word enough to promise and commit to others, means that we are also living in a world where people are struggling to promise, and commit to themselves…and THAT is very scary. We need to TRY for ourselves, and quiet frankly, for those we love, and for the things that we are passionate about and care about in our lives.A life void of trying is a life void of a passion – the same fiery pursuit of passion that lead to inventions we enjoy, social and civil changes that improved humanity, and every great milestone ever achieve in human history …and some not so great ones too.Without that burning desire to win, to deliver, to make change, to experience life, to love and be loved, give and be given to, to be the change, to leave a legacy, to rise, to win… without that, we have a bland life of lack luster maybes and that is just NOT good enough. So – we are re-introducing the PROMISE here and now.“PROMISE – a declaration, or assurance, that one will do a particular thing, or that a particular thing will happen.”And we are going to start with perfecting the process of making, and keeping, promises to OURSELVES! Personal Development TakeAccording to a Harvard University stress management study, top leaders who experience success others want to emulate prioritize keeping promises to themselves, and others.Contrary to the best selling book Leaders Eat Last which suggests that good leaders will put aside their own needs and go without to sacrifice the building of entities and opportunities that help and feed others – this Harvard Study highlighted that in fact the same people who choose to eat last ...

Jessie’s World Podcast – Episode 25, Re-Establishing Boundaries and Self CareHosted by Jessica Lambert – follow on Instagram @JessicaVibezJessie’s World is on Instagram @jessiesworldxo and our online community is www.jessiesworld.comRe-Establishing Boundaries and Self Care – By Jessica VibezIntro (Jingle “do do do do do love and light, do do do do do love and light, do do do do do love and light, welcome to Jessie’s World, you’ll feel alright. We inspire leadership and encourage legacy building that improves human lives and our world. Be sure to follow me on IG and tap into our live sessions where we interact and do some transformative work together right in the live. --Before we get into our main topic, we of course have Tessy Time where my sassy alter ego takes over the podcast to pose thought provoking questions, raise social issues, and just plain rant – enjoy.I have been reflecting on Black History Month and trauma. As a parent, and as a BiRacial female I recently noticed the impact media reports have on my personal mental health. I imagine it is a modern version of publicly wiping a run away slave (or worse) to drive home the point that we better stay in line.I know that these reports make me uncomfortable. They introduce a subconscious fear that impacts my day to day comfort, and when things are really bad they cause depression, anxiety, and isolation. I feel like no one is discussing or addressing the mental impact of pervasive systemic and socio economic issues that affect many North American Black people, and the impact of violence, no matter who is inflicting the violence, on our psyches. I don’t know what the solution is, but I do believe that an open discussion, and a search for resources and answers, support and love, understanding and change is needed. I also realize that you do not have to be Black to be impacted this, you could be the white parent of a Black child like my mother is, or you could be a human of any race and background that is empathetic, loving, and understands hurt and wants it to stop.My personal mission is to create sources of love and light in the world and share that authentic energy with others. I do not come from a divisive perspective, how could I, after all I am both White and Black. I come from a perspective of empathy having felt the trauma response myself… I come from a loving internal longing for true change, and for support that facilitates healing on a deeper level that I personally have seen or experienced. If you have felt the same way DM me @JessicaVibez on Instagram and let’s start discussing solutions for a safer, happier, mentally healthier tomorrow – one love. --Main Topic – Re-Establishing Boundaries and Self CareMost people think of boundaries as a set it and forget it action they need at the beginning of their self-care journey. However, if you are anything like me, boundaries need constant re-evaluation, and re-setting. Over time, people, places, and things will try and encroach on your boundaries. Trimming here, and slicing there, until you are no longer the focal point of your world. This is goal achievement suicide. A compromise here and a re-schedule there can eventually turn into a void land of obscure dreams floating around with the tumble weeds of regret. So, how to de ensure we keep our self-care journey on track, and ensure maximum wellness in all areas of our lives? Worry not, help is on it’s way… SELF-HELP!Yep, you allowed the displacement of your boundaries, and you are going to have to do the work to put them back together again…but I am happy to guide you.Step 1 – KPIs, you know when people say “you are the CEO of your life…” THIS is what they are speaking about. In a company you work for, you would be called in periodically (weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or even annually) to review your goals and corresponding KPIs (key performance indicators) and see how well you are doing at achieving your goals (and indicators) by the dates projected. So, is the same for your life. I recommend doing weekly or monthly check-ins with yourself (depending on how long it takes to make traction in your specific goal areas). For example, let’s say you have the personal goal of loosing 5 pounds a month, that is a very easy KPI to measure and track, so month 1 you check and you only lost 3 pounds, you...

  • Goodbye Hello - how to clean out negativity and welcome new blessings!
    Jan 9 2023
Jessie’s World Podcast – Episode 24 Goodbye Hello – The Art of Letting Go“Everything I've ever let go of has claw marks on it. (on the wall of a bedroom at a recovery house for alcoholics and drug addicts)” ― David Foster Wallace,Happy New Year – and welcome to Jessie’s World podcast where we dig deep, keep it real, and heal so that we can enjoy unhindered upwardly mobile lives together. It’s 2023 and I am into my second year of podcasting, with episode 24 I bring new energy.I am no longer dipping my toe into healing – I am diving in, and I invite you to come along.I am Jessica Lambert or as known on Instagram, @JessicaVibez and I am your host.I have deliberately released this episode later into the January as I know everyone was buzzing from the holidays, and started the new year with resolutions in a bungle, and how lovely. However, now the dust from the holidays has settled and reality has once again come knocking on our doors, let’s have a difficult but honest chat about your resolutions for change this year…and what you REALLY will need to do go achieve SUCCESS.Oh yes honey, we diving in to 2023 with a passion, they don’t call me The Self Success Strategist for nothing, my super power is helping Kings and Queens everywhere straighten their crowns and you are no exception…are you ready to work?First, you know we are going to centre ourselves. When working on internal stuff, we must take a moment to connect from within.A blessed and reliable way to achieve this internal connection is breath work and gratitude, and I never ever get tired of giving thanks – yesssss I give God thanks and praise every day and no matter how many time I say thank you I can always find another reason to thank and praise God again. And Breathe…well you already know, if we have breathe we have life and so that is the very first thing we can give thanks for, deep breath in, deep breath out, and yes, let’s give thanks.Going into a fresh new minute, hour, day, month, year WHAT are you thankful for.Gratitude energy is so powerful.I have ended many of my conversations with Love and Light this year, because that is what I want to spread and gift the world always. What type of energy are you wanting to spread?Let’s do a fun challenge today during our breathing exercise. As you continue to breathe in, hold for four, out, hold for four.I want you to list 10 things you are grateful for.10 things that give you joy in this moment, that gave you joy this past year, that you have the opportunity to enjoy coming up.They can be easy and obvious things that you regularly give thanks for, or more challenging experiences that you have been able to see light within. For exampleI am super grateful every single day of my life for:My relationship with God and the tremendous role he has always played in my life. Growing up without a father, and losing my grandfather only six months or so after he rescued me from foster care when I was only four, somehow brought me closer to God. Even before that, God was in Foster care with me and though it was a very difficult time where I was alone and at risk constantly, I felt God’s protection and light in my life. This protection and light follows me to this day, and I know that I am the stone the earthly builder refused but that’s okay, because all I feel from God is his warm and loving embrace.I am thankful every day that God blessed me with my son. The ability to have such a kind loving intelligent truly unique and remarkable individual as my son and my best friend is more gift than I could ever ask for and I forever feel like I won the child lottery I am so grateful and so very blessed.I give thanks for my health, I have learned how precious health is and how deliberate you have to be when nurturing your mind body and soul. Take nothing for granted.I am grateful for fresh air, clean water, and warm safe beautiful home.I am thankful for my grandfather, though he passed away when I was young, his remarkable impact on my life left a legacy that is ever present in my heart and I always feel connected to him. Be there for the children in your world, it’s everything.Which brings me to my God Children, nieces, nephews, and little cousins – the young people in my life, also those I take as little brothers and sisters, my fam I am super grateful for these special bonds they make life fuller, happier, and more exciting.I am thankful for opportunity, we always have the opportunity to improve your day, your life, your career, your mindset – just opportunity alone is amazing.I am grateful for creativity, how awesome that God gifted us with imagination and the ability to manifest and create inventions, music, works of art, products, and services that the day before were not on earth – what an amazing life he’s given us.I am thankful for healing. And as I hit over 3000 on my Instagram (follow me @JessicaVibez) I am grateful new friends and new relationships with likeminded ...
