The story follows Alice Chapman (Alicia Witt), an antique shop owner who is traveling to meet her fiancé Will’s family for the first time. Due to a series of travel mishaps—including lost luggage and a broken phone—she mistakenly connects with the wrong "Mitchum" family.Believing they are her future in-laws, Alice spends a heartwarming Christmas with them and develops a deep connection with their son, Matt (Mark Wiebe). Join me and comedian, writer, and producer Lauren kincheloe @squalid_gold as we dissect and destroy, roast and toast the 2025 Hallmark Christmas movie ⁠Christmas Above the Clouds⁠ a modern retelling of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, primarily set during a long-haul flight.

Heres the deal Ella Neezer (Erin Krakow) is a workaholic CEO of a travel company who is known for her stingy, demanding, and unsympathetic nature, earning her the nickname "Krampus" from her underappreciated employees. Eager to avoid the holiday season altogether, Ella books a Christmas Eve flight from New York to Sydney, Australia. Because of the time difference, her plan is to take off on December 24th and land on December 26th, skipping Christmas entirely. On the plane, she is accompanied by her assistant, Bobbi Cratchit (a nod to Bob Cratchit), whose son Tim has a medical condition. In a twist of fate, Ella discovers her ex-fiancé, Jake (Tyler Hynes), is also a passenger on the flight, sitting in first class across the aisle.

Once the plane is at cruising altitude, Ella is visited by three quirky spirits representing her past, present, and future. These in-flight visitations force her to confront the personal choices that led to her professional success but left her "flying solo" in life.

Through this magical journey at 30,000 feet, Ella is forced to see the errors of her ways, the impact of her selfishness on others, and the love she thought she had lost with Jake.

Heres the plot: Ella Stewart Grafton (Ginna Claire Mason), a wealthy, charitable socialite in 1905 Newport, wishes on a Christmas comet for a different life and true love. She is magically transported to 2025, where she meets Nick (Wes Brown), a local historian who owns her schooner in the future. As they fall in love, Ella must decide whether to stay in the future, which risks erasing her legacy in the past, or return to her own time.

There is a lot to understand here from quantum physics, to string theory , time travel, compass reading, talking encyclopedias and a whole lotta Nordstram Rack! Buckle up for this time travel mess and find out if they will fall in love. Lets just say this is not the Gilded Age!
