At one end of the spectrum we have the gift of discernment - something precious from God - on the other end, sadly there can be an ease and even habit of criticising people. We’d like to think it is constructive criticism, but is it? Andy and Cath unpack the topic on this episode. Maybe rather than constructive criticism we are simply too opinionated on other people, focused on the negatives, bored or even jealous? It’s a challenging chat that hopefully will lead us all to a prayer of “Father teach me to love like you do”.

Life is busy and there are a lot of overwhelming things going on in this world where we all live. We all need to learn what it is to truly “cast our burdens on the Lord” and yet many of us get too busy, we come under shame or we simply don't stop to recognise what is heavy on our hearts. Andy and Cath share a song at this end of this podcast that we pray will minister to each person who listens. God is beckoning us to Himself to receive from Him… will we take the moment and come to Him?

God is not just good, but Scripture tells us He has goodness stored up for those who love and fear Him! Why then do we live expecting the worst? Could be superstitions, could be mindsets of doubt or fear of being disappointed. Andy and Cath have been stirred personally to look, seek, expect and rest in the goodness of God. It seems a strange thing to ask if we sometimes forget we are human beings! As Christians do we forget the realities of our humanity and think we are either “being a good Christian” or being "carnal"? What about just plain old humanity… needing rest, having limitations, laughing, worrying, feeling emotions, making mistakes. How the place of lack in our hearts can be a blockage to really receiving the fullness of God’s “fatherliness” for us but also the healing He can bring if we let Him into these voids.
