Bu kaynak, Güney Afrika'nın Limpopo Eyaletindeki evsel su taşımanın uzun mesafe ve ağır yükler taşıma yoluyla halk sağlığı üzerindeki etkilerini inceleyen karma yöntemli bir pilot çalışmadır. A mixed-methods pilot study investigating the musculoskeletal health implications of domestic water carrying in Limpopo Province, South Africa. The research utilized observation, measurement, and interviews to understand the physical demands placed overwhelmingly on women and children, who frequently transport water over hundreds of meters via head loading. Results revealed that 38% of all participants experienced neck or back pain, highlighting the severe physical stress associated with the task. The study established a significant correlation between reports of pain and factors such as the weight of the container, the distance traveled, and the participants' self-reported rating of perceived exertion (RPE). Ultimately, the findings suggest that the biomechanical stressors of water carrying have the potential to lead to musculoskeletal disorders, necessitating improved methods and targeted physical interventions.
