• Faith Like a Mustard Seed: Rahab, Ruth, and Mary - 5/17 - Marie Bailey
    May 18 2026

    Scripture References: Matthew 17:20, Joshua 2 & 6, Ruth 1–3, Luke 1:34–38

This week, guest speaker Marie Bailey took us on a journey through the lives of four remarkable women in Scripture: Rahab, Naomi, Ruth, and Mary. Though they lived in different eras and faced vastly different struggles—from broken pasts and deep grief to social stigma and uncertain futures—they all shared one common thread: Mustard-seed faith.

Jesus promised that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. This isn't about the size of our faith, but the object of our faith. When we align our small "yes" with God’s great story, He does the impossible.

    Key Takeaways

    • Faith Before the Victory (Rahab): Rahab was an outsider with a complicated reputation, yet she chose to trust the God of Israel before the walls ever fell. Her story proves that your past doesn't disqualify you from being part of God's purpose; it’s your willingness to trust Him in the "uncertain middle" that matters.

    • Faith in the Ordinary (Naomi & Ruth): Not all faith looks like a dramatic miracle. Sometimes, faith looks like Ruth’s quiet loyalty and daily obedience in the midst of Naomi's deep grief. We explore how God uses ordinary faithfulness to bring about extraordinary redemption.

    • Faith Through Surrender (Mary): Mary’s response to God was a total surrender of her reputation and comfort. By saying, "I am the Lord’s servant," she modeled the ultimate mustard-seed faith—making herself available to God’s plan regardless of the cost.

    LifeGroup Discussion Highlights

In our LifeGroups this week, we are diving deeper into these stories to see where our own lives intersect with theirs. We'll be asking:

    1. What is holding you back? Is it a fear of your past, like Rahab, or a fear of losing security, like Ruth?

    2. Where is your "Yes"? God often works through people who simply make themselves available. What does it look like for you to say "yes" to God this week?

    3. Which story is yours? Whether you are in a season of grief like Naomi or a season of new, risky calling like Mary, how can "mustard-seed faith" move your specific mountain?

  • Knowing Her Value - 5/10 - Allison Riley
    May 11 2026

    Scripture References: Proverbs 31:10–31, Isaiah 40:31, 1 Peter 3:3–4, Ephesians 2:10

On this special Mother’s Day episode, Allison joins us to challenge the traditional—and often overwhelming—stereotypes of the "Proverbs 31 Woman." Instead of a checklist of perfection, we discover a blueprint of God-given strength.

Whether you are a mother or a woman navigating a different season of life, the truth remains: You were designed by God to be fortified, capable, and called. You aren't just "getting through" it; you were built for this.

    Key Takeaways

    • Built of Character, Not Appearance: While the world obsesses over the external, Proverbs 31:30 reminds us that "charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting." True strength comes from being rooted so deep in the Word of God that you are fortified against the storms of life. Remember: How you look is the least interesting thing about you to God.

    • Built with Capability, Not Limitation: God doesn't just give us tasks; He provides the capacity to fulfill them. We look at the "clothed in strength and dignity" imagery and how God’s grace expands our abilities when we lean into Him.

    • Built for a Calling, Not Just a Role: Being a woman of God is about more than a title or a domestic role. From reaching out to the needy (v. 20) to speaking with wisdom (v. 26), your life is a specific "handiwork" prepared in advance by God.

    Wisdom for the Journey

"Root yourself so deep and so far and so wide in the Word of God that when the storms come, you will not fall, because you have been fortified."

If you have felt weary or limited lately, let this message from Isaiah 40:31 encourage you: those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. You are not defined by the world's expectations, but by the Father’s intentional design.

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  • Knowing Her Value - 5/3 - Allison Riley

Knowing Her Value (Part 1): The Design, The Distortion, and The Declaration

Scripture References: Genesis 1:26–28, Genesis 3:1–16, Ephesians 2:10, Romans 8:1

Where does your value come from? Is it found in your productivity, your relationships, or the image you project to the world? In the first installment of our new ladies' series, Knowing Her Value, we strip away the noise of culture and opinion to rediscover the truth of who God says you are.

You were not a product of chance or an afterthought of culture. You were designed on purpose, with purpose, bearing the very image of the Creator. Understanding this truth changes everything about how you see yourself and how you move through the world.

    Key Takeaways

    • The Design: In Genesis 1, we see that humanity is the crown of creation. Being made in the "image and likeness" of God isn't just a sentiment—it is your fundamental identity. You were created to reflect His character and partner in His work.

    • The Distortion: We live in the reality of Genesis 3. The lies of the enemy, the brokenness of the world, and our own choices have "distorted" the image we were meant to carry. We often feel the weight of this distortion through insecurity, comparison, and the pain of broken relationships.

    • The Declaration: Despite the distortion, God’s word over you remains clear. Ephesians 2:10 declares you are His handiwork (His masterpiece), recreated in Christ for a specific purpose. Because of Jesus, the weight of condemnation is lifted, and your value is restored.

    A Note for Your Heart

"You don't need to become worthy. You need to discover that you already are."

The world tells you that worth is something to be earned, but the Gospel tells us it is something that has already been bestowed. This week, we invite you to stop striving for a seat at the table and start living from the seat God has already prepared for you.

  • Parenting on Purpose: Teach them with your words - 4/26 - Chris Youngblood
    Apr 27 2026

Scripture References: Deuteronomy 6:1–9, Proverbs 18:20–21, Lamentations 3:21–24

Our words have the power to build a bridge to the Gospel or a wall around it. In the third part of our Parenting on Purpose series, we explore the profound impact of our speech within the home and how our daily conversations shape a child's view of God.

Studies show that children who feel verbally manipulated or pressured into their faith are less likely to commit to those values as adults. This week, we discuss how to move away from "performance-based" parenting and toward a lifestyle of discipleship that "breathes life" rather than demands perfection.

    Key Takeaways

    • Life or Death in the Tongue: According to Proverbs 18, our words can either nourish a child’s identity in Christ or stifle their desire for faith through harshness and hypocrisy.

    • The Heart Overflow: Drawing from Luke 6:45, we learn that the words we use to teach our children must come from an overflow of what the Lord is teaching us. We cannot pour out what we aren't taking in.

    • Cultivating a Discipleship Culture: As a church and as parents, we raise disciples by removing the pressure of performance, defusing the insecurity of comparison, and offering reassurance during failure.

    • The Four Postures of Discipleship: Following the model in Deuteronomy 6, we look at how to leverage the "ordinary" rhythms of life:

    1. Sitting at home: Meals and downtime.

    2. Walking along the road: Car rides and errands.

    3. Lying down: Bedtime routines.

    4. Getting up: The morning rush.

    Reflection & Challenge

Are you reflecting the image of a disappointed judge, or the image of the Father who offers new mercies every morning?

As we look at Joshua 4 and Lamentations 3, we are challenged to set up "memorial stones" in our homes—reminders of God’s faithfulness that are spoken of with joy, not just obligation.

  • Parenting on Purpose: Teach them with your actions - 4/19 - JT Riley
    Apr 20 2026

    Scripture Reference: Ephesians 6:4

How do we balance the "rules" of parenting with the "relationship" of parenting? In the second installment of our Parenting on Purpose series, we dive into Ephesians 6:4 to discover the ultimate blueprint for discipline and discipleship.

The goal isn't just to produce well-behaved children, but to treat and train our children in the same way that God treats and trains us. When our parenting reflects the heart of the Father, we create an environment where faith can truly flourish.

    Key Takeaways

    • The Danger of Exasperation: Authority exercised without affection is a recipe for resentment. We explore how to lead with a firmness that is wrapped in the warmth of God’s grace.

    • Be the Soil, Not the Storm: Growth requires a stable, nourishing environment. Is your home a place of peace where a child can take root, or is it a whirlwind of reactive emotions?

    • Be a Compass, Not a Chain: Our job is not to bind our children through control, but to point them toward the True North. Training is about providing a sense of direction that they can eventually carry on their own.

    Reflection & Challenge

This week’s message concludes with a vital question for every parent, grandparent, and mentor:

"Are you giving your children a reason to run to God, or a reason to run from Him?"

As you listen, take a moment to evaluate whether your parenting style is acting as a bridge or a barrier to your child's relationship with their Heavenly Father.
