Spirt animals and spirit familiars are extremely powerful and beneficial astral entities. They can guide, protect, and enhance our magick. It is no surprise that they can be superior allies in any situation that we may face. In this episode I give an introduction to spirit animals, how to contact them, as well how to work with them.

In this episode I discuss why one may want to work with any form of astral entity (angels, demons, jinn, etc) what the benefits may be, and why it is important to approach them with respect. No, you do not have to sell your soul, but you will have to experience change. 

While these are subjects that have been heavily discussed, I attempt to give a different perspective on working with some of the most effective magick I have ever experienced. Servitors and Thoughtforms can produce some surprisingly tangible results and are not all that difficult to create. While the difficulty may lie with managing them and any moral ambiguity associated with these energies, most practitioners will find that their spell-work is amplified significantly by creating and working with psychic entities of their own creation.

The idea is that we, as practitioners of any system or craft, can approach magickal entities with the expectation that they will enter into a mutually beneficial relationship. These relationships can yield some exciting results, and we can even experience positive effects long after these relationships have ended.

In this episode I discuss the possibility of what could be the true nature and purpose of demons. Within literature, religion, and popular culture the word “demon” has a purely negative stigma as well as any individual who chooses to work with one. There is even much abuse within the magickal culture, as ceremonial magicians are taught to bind and force them to adhere to their will. We can develop a purely symbiotic relationship with demons, as they are able to help us un-learn negative values and misconceptions, as well as open the locked doors of the subconscious which will aid us into becoming our most powerful selves. Therefore, demons are neither good nor evil, but liminal.

The blind acceptance of our external definitions of what constitutes the true nature of reality contributes to the creation and reinforcement of what occultists refer to as our psychic censor. This is a gatekeeper-like mechanism of our conscious mind which determines, based on rules which have been accepted internalized from our perception of reality, what limits are ultimately placed on possibility. The psychic censor prevents us from accessing the ocean of unconsciousness that lies beneath what we consider to be the true self, thus preventing us from accessing the power that we possess to cause tangible change in the physical and ethereal universes.

Everything that you desire already is locked up in a vault, and this can be opened to  you in several ways. Sometimes, the universe will just give it to you, no questions asked. You will think of what you want, and some short or long time later, it simply shows up.

Yet, every wish has its price, and we do not always have the luxury of being able to determine the cost. Pacts can be written, offerings can be made, but there almost always will be a fine print of  that we will be unaware of until the act is completed and it is too late. 

Each action we take in the magickal sense has its cost. Be it time, health, and even sanity in some rare cases. The universe has its price, and we cannot act as though we are above this law.

Ultimately, to understand magick is to understand yourself. Your emotions, psychological processes, your triggers, motivations, etc. One can practice magick purely for the practical side, to change and morph reality into the shape that you desire it to be. But there also lies within this journey upon the left hand path the will to go far beyond the practical and delve into the deepest parts of your psycho-spiritual anatomy.

Yet, unless one can focus on the second side, and arguably the more important side, by which we can begin understanding ourselves and transmute the deeper parts of the subconscious. The side by which we can eliminate the pollution that has been fed to our egos since we passed through the birth canal and fully entered this world in physical form.

Maybe the ultimate cost of magick is to forget our fears and transmute ourselves into who we are meant to be.

For centuries, both history and fiction have given us romantic whispers of the mystical Philosopher’s Stone, a mystic essence that could transmute lead into gold and even make mankind immortal.

In Hermetic magical systems, the quest for this stone is referred to as the Great Work, a journey in which the magician must undergo a self-initiation that ultimately leads towards a spiritual transcendence in its entirety. In short: the purification of one’s awareness. 

The goal of the mage is to be concerned with the transformation of the shadow personality and its flaws, to become aware of the light body and tap into the unobstructed consciousness which has been waiting to be acknowledged.
