Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry has rejected the Constitution Review Commission’s report, questioning the legitimacy of the commission and the process followed in its review.
Speaking to Radio Tarana host Sanjesh Narain, Chaudhry said the proper process, as stipulated under the Constitution, had not been followed.
Chaudhry also raised concerns about the way the country is currently being governed. He alleged that corruption is at its peak and expressed concern over rising crime and the reported surge in HIV cases in Fiji.
He maintained that the Constitution review process must follow the requirements set out in the Constitution and questioned the validity of the commission’s work.
