Michigan and Ohio State had two very different Saturdays, and we’re breaking down both sides of the rivalry on this episode of Hate Week 365.
Michigan came away from the Iowa game with plenty to be frustrated about. We go drive by drive through the Wolverines’ offensive possessions, looking at what stopped them from finishing drives, where penalties and execution mistakes hurt the most, and which position groups were responsible for the biggest breakdowns.
We also look at Michigan’s defense and the moments where Iowa was able to keep drives alive. Were the Wolverines actually getting beaten consistently, or were too many of Iowa’s opportunities created by self-inflicted mistakes, missed assignments, penalties, and bad situational football?
Then we head to Columbus, where Ohio State handled Illinois and continued to show why its offense can be so dangerous. We break down what worked for the Buckeyes, where Julian Sayin and the passing game found success, how Jeremiah Smith affected the defense, and which Ohio State position groups stood out the most.
Tim and Jeremy also hand out position grades for both Michigan and Ohio State, talk through the biggest positives and concerns coming out of each game, and—because this is Hate Week 365—find a few reasons for Michigan and Ohio State fans to argue with each other along the way.
