Had another impactful episode with John MacLaren of Team Eagle One. We discussed brain chemistry and how we actually understand change and evolution. John explained how the human brain sees diversity and inclusion. Ultimately, everything is diverse, there's no escape from it. Which makes terms like diversity and inclusion so challenging and controversial. John MacLaren spent the past 37 years working in the United States and around the globe. Initially, as a U.S. Navy Cryptologist and a U.S. Navy SEAL in direct action anti and counter-terrorism work. After active duty, as a business owner, specializing in violence prevention and response, threat assessment, fugitive and trafficked person retrieval, surveillance and counter-surveillance, weapons and tactics instructor, range safety officer, safety diver, and combat swimming instructor, and mentor and instructor in the above subjects. John was voted one of the top 100 most influential trainers/mentors of the 20th century for my fitness and health industry work. He is the lead mentor/instructor and National Director for the U.S. Navy SEAL Candidate program. Eagle One is a diversity program that boasts the highest successful graduation rate of any Navy SEAL candidate training program in the country. His passion is his work, which leaves him as tireless as he is motivated. He delivers advanced personal and community leadership development seminars and develops security details and strategies nationwide. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Designing your path with social entrepreneur Daniel Hodges
    Jan 20 2022
People with disabilities are not missing any piece. Rather, strength and peace arise from our ability to embrace our entire identity. Daniel spent his entire life learning to thrive in a body that some consider to be deeply flawed. As someone who was born blind, and with a connective tissue disorder, he is well-acquainted with the low expectations encountered by those with disabilities. These experiences have ignited a fire in him to help create a world in which everyone is afforded the opportunity to reach their potential without the barriers that hold so many of us back. In 2018, he entered the University of Baltimore School of Law, with aspirations of practicing at the intersection of healthcare and civil rights law. His involvement in Peaces of Me is an outgrowth of these efforts. Our collective passion for advocacy and furtherance of equity and inclusion runs deep. Learn more about your ad choices.
