OK, Let’s start with the recent signing of Kyle Tucker…What do you think?

Are you kidding me? WTF is going on with BASEBALL?

Kyle Tucker's Contract with the Dodgers…

    Duration: 4 years

    Total Value: $240 million

Average Annual Value: $57.1 million (record-setting)

Signing Bonus: $64 million (with $54 million paid upfront)

    Deferred Money: $30 million

Opt-Out Clauses: After the 2nd and 3rd years

    Financial Implications

The Dodgers will incur a significant luxury tax due to exceeding the highest threshold, resulting in an annual cost of approximately $119.9 million for Tucker.

The contract structure, including deferrals, helps lessen the immediate luxury tax impact.

The Dodgers will lose their third and sixth-highest draft picks due to Tucker rejecting a qualifying offer from the Cubs, as well as previous losses from signing closer Edwin Díaz.

So, yes that is an INSANE contract. Especially because I would like to know how in the world is Kyle Tucker valued at $57.1 million dollar contract per year? Seriously? How did THIS number magically get presented?

Kyle Tucker's agent is Casey Close, who is associated with Excel Sports Management and I think he did a GREAT job is cloning Scott Boras!

Alright, I guess we have to address the elephant in the room. Everyone has heard doomsday predictions over the NEXT CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) in MLB. Are you familiar with the potential clash? Do you care? Well, unfortunately, THIS is the NASTY business side of baseball we all hate to talk about. The reality of the game…

Current Issues in Major League Baseball (MLB)

Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining Agreement is the MAIN agenda. We have talked about this topic in the past, so what IS the real issue and challenges?

The current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) expires on December 1, 2026.

There are significant disagreements between team owners and the MLB Players Association (MLBPA), particularly regarding economic issues.

A potential salary cap is a major point of contention, with owners pushing for it while players are opposed.

Past labor disputes have led to work stoppages, raising concerns about the possibility of another lockout. Now, the owners AND Players are not stupid, they understand what a work stoppage will do to the game. The BIG BUT is… how do they avoid it.

I guess it’s not too early to talk about the team the USA is assembling for the World Baseball Classic. Though the roster isn't yet final, Team USA currently looks like this:

    Catchers: Cal Raleigh, Will Smith
Infielders: Bobby Witt Jr., Gunnar Henderson, Brice Turang
Outfielders: Aaron Judge, Corbin Carroll, Pete Crow-Armstrong
    Designated Hitter: Kyle Schwarber
Starting Pitchers: Paul Skenes, Tarik Skubal, Joe Ryan, Logan Webb, Matthew Boyd, Clay Holmes, Nolan McLean
Relief Pitchers: Mason Miller, David Bednar, Griffin Jax, Garrett Whitlock, Garrett Cleavinger

HOLY SHIT! This is better than an All-Star team at the moment. The offense alone is terrifying. Judge, Raleigh and Schwarber each topped 50 home runs this year, while Witt, Carroll and Crow-Armstrong all have at least one 30-30 season on the books. Henderson hit 37 homers and stole 21 bases in 2024.
