Montefiore Woodland is one of Ramsgate's best-kept secrets: a rare patch of woodland cared for almost entirely by volunteers. In this first episode, James Bonthron meets the people who give their time to protect it, discovering what inspires them, what keeps them coming back, and why this small green space means so much to the local community. Along the way, he explores the woodland's remarkable history, its wildlife, and the challenges of managing an urban nature reserve. It's a story about conservation, community, and the quiet dedication that helps keep one of Thanet's most special places alive.
