Riley Cote and Derek Settlemyre start the show talking about the Flyers recent rough stretch, Hathaway’s missed empty net and the awful loss to Utah, and the job Rick Tocchet has done, especially with Denver Barkey and Matvei Michkov. Assistant coach of the 2026 Sweden World Junior team and former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nick Grossmann joined us for an interview! Grossy talks to us about his hectic season so far, the excitement of being part of Sweden’s World Junior coaching staff, and how he transitioned from strength and conditioning coach to assistant coach. We discuss Nick’s confidence in his team going into the most recent World Juniors, and the gold medal game vs Czechia. Nicklas gives us some insight on a couple players he’s coached including Flyers prospect Jack Berglund, and 2025 3rd overall pick Anton Frondell. Moving along Grossy talks to us about the biggest challenge as a coach in a short tournament, how much NHL he watches today, how to get out of a losing streak, and we share some stories about his time playing in Philadelphia with the Flyers. Wrapping up he tells us what his future is in coaching.
