The latest episode of NHS Highland's Highlights podcast focuses on the theme of "Careers in Care."

They talk about the many opportunities available within the field, highlighting how these roles allow individuals to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. The podcast emphasises the rewarding nature of these careers, not only in terms of job satisfaction but also in the sense of making a difference in the community. As May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month, and Highland has long been known as a tick, and now also Lyme Disease hotspot, we thought it was an ideal time to have a conversation with Dr Sally Mavin. Since 2020, she’s been the Director of the Scottish Lyme Disease and Tick-borne Infection Reference Laboratory in Inverness. She’s worked on Lyme disease as a Clinical Scientist for more than 20 years, and is passionate about improving the diagnosis of Lyme disease in patients in Scotland.
