Today’s reading takes us to Exodus 24, where God shows us what makes fellowship with Him possible. Israel receives the Word and commits to obey, but their commitment is not what seals the covenant. Blood does. Before fellowship can be shared and before the glory of God can be approached, a substitute must die and the blood must be applied. Their obedience matters—but their obedience cannot create access to God.

Exodus 24 points us forward to Jesus. Our relationship with God is not secured by our promises, our strength, or our ability to keep our word. It is secured by the blood of the Lamb. And because of Christ, we are invited into fellowship with the holy God Himself. So today, read Exodus 24 and remember: obey His Word, trust completely in the blood of Jesus, and when God invites you into His work, say yes. His invitation is not merely to do something for Him—it is to experience His presence while He does it.

Today’s reading takes us to Nehemiah 8, where a restored people develop a fresh hunger for the Word of God. They ask Ezra to bring out the Scriptures, they listen as the Word is clearly explained, and they receive both conviction and joy. This is more than exposure to the Bible—the goal is understanding. An open Bible means little if our hearts remain closed to what God is saying.

Nehemiah 8 reminds us that we have not honored Scripture simply because it stirred us emotionally; we honor Scripture when it governs us. The people did not admire the message and move on. They returned to the Word, discovered what God commanded, and changed their lives accordingly. So today, read Nehemiah 8 and ask four questions: Am I hungry for the Word? Do I understand it? Will I receive it? And most importantly—what will change because I heard it? The clearest evidence that we have received God’s Word is not how enthusiastically we discuss it, but how willingly we obey it.

Today’s reading takes us to Acts 2:42–47, where the question shifts from, “Did you respond to the gospel?” to, “What did your response change?” The early church did not experience one powerful day at Pentecost and then return to normal. They devoted themselves to the Word, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. Their faith became visible in the way they learned, gathered, shared, prayed, and cared for one another.

Acts 2 reminds us that every powerful Sunday should produce a faithful Monday. Real devotion reaches our tables, schedules, possessions, and relationships. It moves us from asking, “What do I need?” to asking, “Who around me needs something?” So today, read Acts 2:42–47 and ask whether your faith has entered your everyday life. Devote yourself to the Word, pray for one another, pursue genuine fellowship, remember the bond you have in Christ, and find a way to be about someone else.
