  • It Changes Everything: A Conversation Between Nikki Collins and Karen Rohrer
    Nov 13 2025

This episode features Nikki Collins (National Coordinator, 1001 New Worshiping Communities) in conversation with Karen Rohrer (Associate Academic Dean, Princeton Theological Seminary) about Karen's work as co-chair of the Mission Development Resources Committee. If you're starting a new church within our movement, this is where some of the funding comes from.

What is that process like? How do staff reviewers and committee members determine what we are looking for and how we know when we find it? And is it true that this process has evolved along with the movement?

  • Threads in the Tapestry of Belonging: A Conversation with Bethany McKinney Fox
    May 22 2025

The Rev. Dr. Bethany McKinney Fox is the perfect conversation partner. She's someone people like to be with, and she's thoughtful: both in the public sphere (through expertly hosted social media engagement), and the lectures she has given as a pastor and ethicist about the choices we make and what it means to be a neighbor.

In our conversation together, we talk about how sharing things with neighbors may just save us, and will certainly move us forward; the power of hyper locality; and moments in our lives recently when we could tell that something was ours to do.

  • Get Rid of Your Stuff: A Conversation with Becca Ehrlich
    Apr 25 2025

The Rev. Dr. Becca Ehrlich is a spiritual director, author, and is also known to many as the Christian minimalist. In our conversation, Becca chronicles the events that led her and her spouse to give up almost sixty percent of their possessions. Do they regret this newfound spaciousness? Do they run to the big box stores to fill the void? Is her wardrobe devoid of color? And other important questions. Becca tells all; including a meaningful story about the hardest things of all: to give up the baby items they chose for their infant son whom they lost at birth, a story she touches on about halfway through the episode.

  • There’s More to This Story: A Conversation with Debby Viveros
    Apr 17 2025

Debby Viveros is the leader of Our Selah, a new worshiping community that supports pastors with the church of their very own.

In our conversation, she shares the journey of her own radical, interpretive reshaping of a part of scripture, just two little verses in the whole Bible that boxed her in as a fantastic leader of a dynamic and large women's Bible study. She did not know she could be a pastor. To put it more clearly, she knew she could not and would not be a pastor. The tradition of her church was complementarianism, the idea that women and men were created by God to have different roles in life, in family, and in the church. We meditate on her journey from complementarianism to ordained ministry, the need for keepers of ritual, and the weight of a simple church key.
