About this listen

No Context Cinema Club is a comedy film podcast where famous movies are rewritten from scratch, without ever being watched.

Each episode, one host attempts a full movie rewrite based purely on the title, armed with only vague clues and zero context. What follows is a completely improvised story that often spirals into something wildly different from the original film.

Blending comedy podcast chaos with funny film critique, film discussion and creative storytelling, every episode ends with the rewrite being scored for coherence, entertainment and originality.

The results feed into a live leaderboard where listeners can vote and decide which movie rewrites deserve to rise to the top, and which should be forgotten entirely.

If you enjoy comedy podcasts, movie podcasts, movie rewrites, and fun film discussions with a completely original twist, No Context Cinema Club delivers something genuinely different.

  • Hollow Man reimagined - watch out for the count (ep. 15)
    May 9 2026

What if Hollow Man wasn’t a sci-fi horror thriller… but a creepy Gothic mystery about a group of school kids uncovering a decades-old curse hidden inside a series of old horror films?

In this episode of No Context Cinema Club - a comedy film podcast and movie rewrite podcast - Rob rewrites Hollow Man without ever watching it. Using only the title and a handful of chaotic clues, he builds an eerie treasure-hunt mystery set inside a sprawling boarding school filled with hidden corridors, missing students, cryptic VHS tapes, and a terrifying figure who keeps appearing in the background of old films.

This funny film discussion blends movie chat, film analysis, cinema comedy, and absurd storytelling as the original film is transformed into a haunting coming-of-age mystery inspired by cursed media, secret passageways, lost fortunes, and the kind of school that probably should have been shut down years ago.

    Expect:

    • Four teenage film club members discovering a mysterious package containing six unsettling horror films
    • A silent background extra known only as “The Hollow Man” appearing in every movie
    • A Dewey Decimal code leading to a long-lost book tied to the school’s founder
    • A treasure hunt that slowly turns into something far more sinister
    • A growing pattern of missing students stretching back generations

As the story spirals, this episode explores obsession, legacy, paranoia, and the terrifying idea that some stories are designed to keep repeating forever.

After the rewrite is locked in, Kev scores the film for coherence, entertainment, and originality, feeding into the show’s live leaderboard.

If you enjoy movie podcasts, comedy podcasts, film rewrites, horror mysteries, cursed-media stories, and strange coming-of-age adventures in the style of old-school supernatural thrillers, this episode delivers a completely original spin on Hollow Man.

Has Rob created a clever layered mystery full of eerie clues and atmosphere… or just accidentally traumatised an entire fictional school?

  • Everything Is Illuminated reimagined - just gnomes, suffering and wasps (ep. 14)
    May 2 2026

What if Everything Is Illuminated wasn’t an indie drama… but a dark high-concept comedy where one man can erase anything from existence and slowly realises the world only works because of the things we hate?

In this episode of No Context Cinema Club - a comedy film podcast and movie rewrite podcast - Rob rewrites Everything Is Illuminated without ever watching it. Using only the title and a handful of chaotic clues, he builds a surreal, escalating story about a man who discovers he can delete anything from reality… and immediately starts making things worse.

This funny film discussion blends movie chat, film analysis, cinema comedy, and absurd storytelling as the original film is transformed into a strange, philosophical comedy about consequences, control, and why “fixing everything” is a terrible idea.

    Expect:

    • Jack Black as Al Gone, a man who discovers as a child that he can erase anything from existence with a single wish
    • A small mistake (goodbye wasps) that quietly begins to unravel the natural world
    • A brief, disastrous attempt to use the ability for personal gain (including rigging a game show)
    • A global breaking point when suffering itself is removed… and everything stops working
    • A surreal reveal where everything he’s ever erased still exists somewhere

As the story spirals, this episode explores cause and effect, human behaviour, unintended consequences, and whether pain and struggle are actually essential to how the world functions.

After the rewrite is locked in, Kev scores the film for coherence, entertainment, and originality, feeding into the show’s live leaderboard.

If you enjoy movie podcasts, comedy podcasts, film rewrites, movie discussion, high-concept comedies, and chaotic butterfly-effect storytelling, this episode delivers a completely original spin on Everything Is Illuminated.

Has Rob created a clever, consequence-driven comedy about control… or just systematically broken reality one bad decision at a time?

    Apr 25 2026
