  • Episode 15 - Learning from failure and finding Fable - with Michael Fox
    Nov 16 2020

On this episode of None Of My Business, I'm joined by Michael Fox. Michael has experienced the highs and lows of building an international business and attracting investors from around the world. Shoes of Prey was set to change the world of manufacturing leading the charge in customised fashion. When this vision couldn't be realised the company had to be closed and Michael shares with me some of the scars of that process.

He has since gone on to be the co-founder of Fable Food Co which is a business that aims to address the issues with how we produce and consume meat products.

In this episode of None Of My Business we discuss:

    1. Early career experience through internships.
    2. Working in retail and tech at Super Cheap Auto and Google.
    3. Where the idea for Shoes of Prey came from.
    4. Taking on VC investment.
    5. Finding the ability to start another business.
    6. Alternative meat products and the future of food.

None Of My Business is an Australian podcast hosted by Michael Jackett. With the aim of having more meaningful conversations, this podcast invites guests onto the show to curiously dig through their current and past experiences as employees, managers or business owners to understand what they have learnt along the way and how that knowledge is guiding them today.

Sometimes these conversations are strictly business, but ideally, they go further than that and we get to know a bit more about who our guests are and what they bring personally to these businesses.

On this episode of None Of My Business, I'm joined by Clive Sher.   Clive is the Managing Director of well know children's brand Little Bellies.

In its 10th year of operation, Clive along with his brother Steven started the business after experiencing a lack of 'Better For You' organic options on the market.

As you will hear from Clive's experience and passion for the brand and category, this company was started with a clear purpose in mind and continues to be run with integrity and a true commitment  to having a positive influence on children's food choices.

In this episode of None Of My Business we discuss:

    1. Leading with passion when starting a business.
    2. Successful partnerships with suppliers.
    3. Getting the product into retailers.
    4. Experience and knowledge heh developing products.
    5. The pseudo confectionary category that is kids food.
    6. Who's responsible for bringing better food to shelves.

  • Episode 12 - Culture can't be copied - with Radek Sali
    Oct 12 2020

In this episode of None Of My Business, I'm joined by Radek Sali. Radek stands as one of Australia’s most successful business people and a serial entrepreneur in the health and wellness sector.

He revolutionised the Swisse Wellness group by making the category aspirational, pioneering the use of brand ambassadors. As CEO, Radek created a positive working culture (winning ‘the best place to work in Australia’ in 2015 and 2016) and charted record sales. In 2015 Radek helped negotiate the sale of the group to Hong Kong-listed Biostime for $1.7 billion, one of the biggest private company transactions in Australian history.

Radek used the proceeds to set up a company, Light Warrior, with ex Goldman Sachs banker Adam Gregory. Light Warrior is an investment group committed to creating shared value by investing in businesses that are socially responsible and environmentally conscious.

In this episode of None Of My Business we discuss:

    1. Doing as much personal learning as possible.
    2. Mediation and having a meditation coach.
    3. The link between people and work.
    4. Culture and Communication plans at Swisse.
    5. Going close to being fired as CEO
    6. Capitalism for good and where Governments need to catch up.
