It shows him that he's worth loving, and that's exactly what Jesus does for us. Christ doesn't wait for us to "get it together" before He wraps His arms around us. He walks up that mountain, meets us in our loneliness, our anxiety, and our resentment, and says, "you're loved." When you humble yourself before Him and say, "God, I can't do this," that's when He says, "Good — because I can."
