  • Feeling a Little Grinchy?
    Dec 24 2025

In this holiday episode Jen uses one of her favorite Christmas characters (The Grinch) to talk about grace, healing, and Christ's love in the places we feel wounded, bitter, or closed off. Like the Grinch, many of us have had seasons where we couldn't feel the joy of Christmas at all. We were carrying hurt, walls built from pain, and a belief that we didn't deserve love or community. But the Grinch story isn't about evil… it's a redemption story. A little girl's love doesn't shame him or force him to change... It shows him that he's worth loving, and that's exactly what Jesus does for us. Christ doesn't wait for us to "get it together" before He wraps His arms around us. He walks up that mountain, meets us in our loneliness, our anxiety, and our resentment, and says, "you're loved." Whether you're struggling this season, feeling like you don't belong, or just overwhelmed by the holiday noise, Christ's grace can break through.

Are you going through your Grinch season? Let us know in the comments. We want to pray with you, encourage you, and remind you that grace meets us right where we are. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more honest, heart-centered conversations on Not Yet Christian.

  • Cast It and Let It Go | 1 Peter 5:7 Explained
    Dec 17 2025

In this Not Yet Christian Daily Bible Verse episode, Jen breaks down one of the most comforting and practical verses in the Bible — 1 Peter 5:7: "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." This isn't a soft toss, it's a full release. "Cast" literally means to throw it as hard and as far as you can... To get it off your shoulders and give it fully to God. When life feels like too much (the stress, the anxiety, the constant pressure to fix everything) this verse reminds us that we were never meant to carry those burdens alone. God didn't create fear, anxiety, or panic. That's the enemy. But He did create peace, and that peace starts with trust. When you humble yourself before Him and say, "God, I can't do this," that's when He says, "Good — because I can." This episode is your reminder to stop trying to hold it all together and start letting go. Cast your worries to the One who can actually handle them — because He cares deeply for you.

What are you casting this week? Drop it in the comments. Your honesty might be exactly what someone else needs to hear today. We're all carrying something, but God never asked us to carry it alone. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more real-talk faith every week on Not Yet Christian.

  • Jesus Didn't Come to Condemn You — He Came to Transform You
    Dec 3 2025

In this episode of Not Yet Christian, Jen unpacks one of the most powerful moments of mercy in the Bible when Jesus tells the woman caught in adultery, "Then neither do I condemn you… Go now and leave your life of sin." (John 8:10–11). This story isn't about shame, it's about transformation. The Pharisees came ready to stone, but Jesus came ready to restore. He reminds us that conviction draws us closer to Him, while condemnation pushes us away. If you've ever felt buried in guilt, this episode is your reminder that Jesus doesn't point fingers... He extends His hand. Grace doesn't ignore truth; it empowers change. Forgiveness is the starting point of transformation, not the reward for perfection. When we encounter real mercy, we don't just get forgiven… we get changed from the inside out.

  • Finding Gratitude When the Holidays Hurt
    Nov 26 2025

The holidays aren't always easy. Between empty seats at the table, strained relationships, financial stress, and memories of loved ones we've lost, Thanksgiving can bring just as much heartache as it does joy. In this special Thanksgiving episode, Jen opens up about what gratitude really looks like when life isn't picture-perfect. Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" she reminds us that thankfulness isn't about pretending everything's fine, but about trusting that God is still good in the middle of it all. Gratitude isn't denial, it's direction. When we anchor our hearts in thankfulness, even in the mess, we make room for peace, perspective, and God's presence. Whether this season is full of laughter or loss, this episode will encourage you to find one thing to be thankful for each day because gratitude has the power to shift everything.

Let us know in the comments: what's one thing you're thankful for right now even if life feels messy? Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more real conversations on Not Yet Christian where faith, humor, and honesty meet.

  • I Don't Feel Like I Belong In Church
    Nov 12 2025

Feeling like you don't belong is one of the most common and most painful reasons people stay away from church. Maybe you've walked through the doors and thought, "Everyone here has their life together but me." Or maybe you've felt out of place because of your past, your age, your family situation, or simply because you're still figuring faith out. In this episode, Jen and Chaney take an honest look at what it means to belong in the body of Christ, using 1 Corinthians 12:18 as their foundation: "But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be." They remind us that God doesn't make mistakes. He intentionally designed each of us with a purpose and a place. The church isn't a club for the perfect; it's a home for the broken. Like the human body, every part is needed for the whole to function. When we compare ourselves to others, we forget that our unique gifts fill a gap no one else can. Belonging isn't about fitting in, it's about stepping in. This episode encourages listeners to stop waiting to feel ready, to stop believing the lie that they're not needed, and to take that first step toward community. Because when you show up with flaws, fears, and all you'll discover that you've belonged all along.

If you've ever struggled to feel like you fit in at church, we'd love to hear your story in the comments below. Your experience might help someone else find their place too! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more honest talks on Not Yet Christian.
