    "God answers all prayers"

    No, He doesn't.

The first prayer He didn't answer was for the episode to be shorter. The second was Elijah's prayer to die, and just like Elijah, He will never answer that prayer for you either.

Elijah hit rock bottom and prayed to die. He wasn't the first and he won't be the last. That doesn't mean that we can't take heavy lessons from his story to know how God deals with struggles that feel bigger than us.

This is the longest episode yet and for good reason. In honour of World Mental Health Day, we are looking at the struggle faced with declining mental health and looking into how we can look at biblical examples for comfort, support and guidance.

Faith and mental health can coexist. I know because I have been there. In this Episode, I open up about my own journey with depression; moments that broke me, verses that helped me and the lessons I have learned and I'm still learning.

One photo. Two betrayals. Three bridesmaids. Four episodes of AITA.

In this episode we ask ourselves; when does drama cross the line into disloyalty and what does real friendship look like?

As a sorry for disappearing for so long, today we talk through TWO viral AITA stories; one where a bad photo sparks the end of a friendship, and one where three bridesmaids make it their mission to ruin a brides day. Both are as chaotic as they sound.

As somebody who recently lost some really close friends, this episode hits really close to home and hopefully adds a much needed lesson, so I'm extra eager to explore from a Christian lens the reality of friendship, starting with the question; what separates petty drama from deal breaking disloyalty? In this episode, we delve into examples of toxic friendships and Godly ones with a stellar example from the bible - David and Jonathan. Because it is true, that Nothing is New Under The Sun. Their story shows us how God intends for us to love selflessly, stay loyal in hard moments and root relationships in something unshakable.

It's part tea, part truth and a whole lot of learning about what a real friendship should look like. Sometimes a 'sister/brother' is more than just a word.

  • What's In A Name

Today's episode dives into something that is unique to every one of us - names. A name can make or break a first impression but today we take a look into how much a name can shape your life. From some of the wildest names we've come across in real life (yes, Sim Card is a real person) to the social, cultural and emotional reasons behind a name, in this episode we are unpacking why people name their children the way they do and what it means for the future.

We also look at an AITA story from reddit that really had us scratching our heads. Let's just say some people (of course, it's a man) make choices that will have you questioning their entire character. It's a mess and we've got thoughts.

And because we are Nothing New Under The Sun, we'll make a little historical turn and open our bibles too. We look in Genesis into the story of Jacob and Esau - brothers whose names and destinies were decided before they were even born.

It's always interesting to see how much meaning your name can hold, even in ancient stories.

Podcast Episode Description: "Grace, Forgiveness, and Boundaries: Navigating Family Drama with Biblical Wisdom"

In this episode, we explore the delicate dance between grace, forgiveness, and setting boundaries—using a Reddit AITA story that brings a bit of family drama to the table. A man is stuck in the middle of a family feud where his relatives don't like his wife and blame it all on her cooking. After much heartache and frustration, he decides to cut ties with his family.

We’ll dive into how we can show grace and forgiveness even when it's tough, but also how it's okay to set boundaries that protect our peace and relationships. Using Ephesians 4:32, where we're reminded to "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you," we talk about how to approach family conflicts with kindness. And in John 2:24, where Jesus shows that He knew when to keep His distance from others, we reflect on the importance of recognizing when it’s necessary to step back in order to protect our hearts.

Tune in for a fun yet thoughtful conversation about how we can extend grace without losing ourselves, forgive without forgetting, and still set healthy boundaries in the process. Whether you’re dealing with family dynamics, or just need some advice on how to navigate tough relationships, this episode is packed with biblical wisdom and a little lighthearted perspective to help guide you through.
