About this listen

The Outer Banks have always swallowed things — ships, secrets, souls. In 'Outer Banks Drowned', Luna tells stories of the coast that takes more than it gives: a lighthouse keeper who sees faces in the beam, a stranded fisherman whose rescuers aren't human, a child's sandcastle that grows teeth at high tide. Each episode is a standalone descent into salt-rusted dread, where the Atlantic isn't a backdrop but a character — patient, hungry, and older than the bones beneath the dunes. Luna's voice, low and close like a confidant at a driftwood fire, guides you through tales of tide-pool monsters, ghost ferries, and drowned towns that ring their church bells underwater. This is not a show about vacation rentals and boardwalks. It is about the things that wash up when the moon pulls hard: barnacle-encrusted grief, sand-scoured memories, and the sound of something breathing in the fog. If you find a message in a bottle, do not uncork it. Press play instead.

  • The Bone Weaver of Ocracoke — Fexingo Horror
    May 5 2026
A woman in a coastal North Carolina town takes in driftwood from shipwrecks and carves it into intricate animal shapes. When a stranger commissions a figure from the wreck of a ship that sank a hundred years ago, the carvings start to move at night. Luna tells the story of a woman who learned that some wood remembers everything.

  • The Last Ferryman of Hatteras Inlet — Fexingo Horror
    May 4 2026
October 2018, the tail end of hurricane season. Luna drives down to the ferry landing at Hatteras Inlet, a place she'd visited as a child. The ferryman is new — a quiet man named Elias who never looks at the water. He tells her he took over after the old ferryman, Mr. Pritchard, vanished mid-crossing one night. The Coast Guard found the boat drifting, engine off, life vests untouched. No body, no distress call. But the ferry keeps running because the island needs supplies, and Pritchard's wife insists he'll come back. Elias mentions the schedule book — Pritchard's last entry, dated the night he disappeared, lists one passenger. A woman in a blue dress, no name, no vehicle. The fee box was empty, but the book says 'paid in full.' Luna asks who she was. Elias just shrugs and goes back to coiling rope. Then, at low tide, Luna sees something lodged in the sandbar — a blue dress, caught on a piece of wreckage, waving slow. She walks toward it. The dress is empty. But the water around it is perfectly still, like something is holding its breath. She leaves before sunset. The ferry still runs. The schedule book still sits in the shack, open to Pritchard's last page. And sometimes, when the fog rolls in, Elias says he hears a woman's voice calling 'thank you' across the inlet. Always from the side where the water is deepest.

  • The Saltmoor Prayer House — Fexingo Horror
    May 3 2026
On a wet November night in 2019, Luna found herself in the coastal town of Saltmoor, North Carolina, after her car died on Highway 12. A woman named Elara offered her shelter in a white clapboard prayer house that had stood empty for decades. Elara claimed she was the last keeper of a covenant made by the town's founders—a promise to a thing that lived under the marsh. That night, Luna heard singing from the reeds, saw wet footprints cross the floor, and watched Elara walk into the black water wearing a dress stitched with bone buttons. This is a story about what waits beneath the placid surface of a coastal town, and what happens when someone decides to keep a promise no one else remembers. It is quiet, slow, and it will stay with you like salt in your hair.
