The Buffalo Bills head into Las Vegas for a Week 6 showdown with the Raiders, riding high after a dramatic 37-34 overtime win over the Rams on Monday night. Sitting at 4-1 and tied for the NFL’s highest scoring average at 32.8 points per game, Buffalo’s offense remains one of the league’s most explosive units under new head coach Joe Brady. Dual-threat quarterback Josh Allen continues to dominate, with 1,249 passing yards, 7 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions alongside 239 rushing yards and 8 scores on the ground. Running back James Cook powers a top-five rushing attack averaging 158 yards per game, though ball-security issues have surfaced, with the Bills tied for the league lead in fumbles.
The Raiders, now 3-2 after dropping consecutive games to the Chiefs and a 45-17 blowout loss to the Patriots, return home to Allegiant Stadium looking to bounce back. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins has posted solid numbers through five starts—1,269 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions—while tight end Brock Bowers remains a matchup nightmare with recent production of 16 catches for 202 yards and two scores over his last two games. Maxx Crosby continues to generate pressure at an elite rate, and the opportunistic Raiders defense has forced 10 turnovers, tied for the most in the NFL. Running back Ashton Jeanty is expected to play through lingering ankle and foot issues, though his production has dipped.
Key storylines center on containing Allen’s legs and arm against a Raiders defense that ranks near the bottom in several categories, while Buffalo’s leaky unit (30th in total defense, 31st against the pass) must answer for Bowers and Cousins. Both teams have struggled in the red zone defensively, setting up a potentially high-scoring affair. The Bills enter as roughly five-point favorites with the total near 53.5, and the all-time series is virtually even. Expect Bills Mafia to travel in force for this 1:25 p.m. PT / 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS.
This AFC matchup pits a surging Bills offense against a Raiders squad seeking to halt a skid at home. Ball security, turnovers, and the Allen-Cousins quarterback duel will likely decide whether Buffalo improves to 5-1 or Las Vegas steals one in front of its home crowd.
