Each year 2,400 people, on average, get lost in the wilderness in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. 90% of those that become lost are found alive, 8 % are located deceased, and the other 2% simply vanish without a trace.

Our host Tanner Hoskins, co-Founder of Pacific Northwest Bigfoot Search and Executive Director at Pacific Northwest Missing Persons Project (PNWMPP) shares the mysterious true stories of adults and children who inexplicably disappeared while recreating in the great outdoors of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.
Tanner will share the stories of these missing persons as well as our own expeditions into the area these people were last seen or known to be.
We hope that by telling these stories we can help foster a community driven in bringing answers and closure to these grieving families.

Tanner will also share stories from our organization's own personal expeditions into the wilderness in search of signs of Sasquatch activity and following-up on reports of reported bigfoot activity.

    Their red 2005 Jeep Wrangler (Oregon plate 494 QKW) has yet to be found, leaving behind only questions and heartache for their families.

    Tanner explores the timeline, terrain, and investigative details surrounding their disappearance — while drawing lessons from the tragic 2006 case of James Kim, whose determination to save his stranded family in the Oregon wilderness became one of the most haunting survival stories in modern history.

    This episode blends search insight, field experience, and emotional storytelling to shed light on how quickly ordinary adventures in the Pacific Northwest can turn into life-and-death situations — and what we can all do to stay prepared, aware, and connected.

    In this episode, we explore two men who entered the wilderness under very different circumstances—one who fought to live, and one who vanished into the shadows.

    First, we follow the incredible survival story of Ralph Sawyer, a 52-year-old mountain biker from Gresham, Oregon, who disappeared in Mount Hood National Forest and was missing for six long days. Against the odds, Ralph found his way back, relying on instinct, grit, and the simple decision to follow a creek downhill. His story is a reminder that preparation and perseverance can mean the difference between life and death.

    Then we shift to the ongoing manhunt for Travis Caleb Decker, a decorated military veteran accused of murdering his three young daughters before disappearing into the backcountry of Washington. With his survival training and ability to live off-grid, Decker has evaded capture for months. Authorities now believe he may be receiving help, and the case has sparked debate over law enforcement strategy, mental health, and reforms to the Amber Alert system.
