  • Why I Had To Create A Book Fair (By Myself)
    May 5 2026

diVERSES just celebrated the inaugural diVERSES Poetry Book Fair, organized by poet Geoff Anderson as a celebration of poetry though showcases for books and a rolling series of panels on topics related to publishing, poetry, and writing held at the Stanza, Columbus's first and only poetry venue. And there were a lot of lessons learned and visions come to fruition, especially at a time when the arts feel constant external pressure. In fact, a big reason why this book fair was created and run by one person was entirely done to show the poetry world that we don't need massive teams, we don't need to wait for others' approval--we are already enough to advocate for our own art on terms we control. Let's discuss more about the lessons from creating a book fair.Get a free audio/mp3/podcast version at https://open.spotify.com/show/4vAdMbaunOPziRoovm0K5PMore diVERSES Poetry Book Fair: https://youtu.be/O7T3HNnWSJA*Welcome also to our poetry channel at diVERSES!
