We’ve talked a lot on this podcast about how the internet and AI can lead you astray with one simple strategy: affirmation. Your social media account, all the places you’ve visited online, all the videos you watch, all of it is a reflection of you. Jump into an AI chat, tell it what you're thinking, even if it’s completely wrong, and you’re likely to get the most amazing support to the point where you’re convinced that you could never be wrong on this. It’s worse when there are multiple, but unprovable, opinions on the same topic. Put those people in the same room and tell them the subject is something each has divergent opinions on; give them access to AI and the internet and a debate stage, and they can all stand up at the podium and defend their position with vigor, and some even with animosity. We all want to be right.

But that is not solely the purview of AI, the internet and social media. Today, we look at the church. What we discover is not a new phenomenon, but something that has been happening to mankind forever. AI and the internet are just new ways to develop tribal support for a particular ideology or opinion. But we don’t need electronic media to see inside the house of mirrors.

I know the questions. I was a staunch atheist before I ever took the bible seriously. These will throw any Christian off his game:

Where did the dinosaurs come from?

Why aren’t pyramids ever mentioned in the bible?

Our science dates the earth millions of years before Genesis… how does the Bible explain that?

There are monolithic structures that not only pre-date the bible, they pre-date humanity if you consider the biblical timeline of 6000 years plus or minus. How was that possible?

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. You don’t approach this by debunking science. You’ll dig a very deep hole if you do that. Instead, I think the correct approach is to let science have it’s points and see if we can harmonize the bible with science. I didn’t expect this temple study to resolve these questions. Honestly, the study didn’t answer the questions, the answers to the questions instead defined the first chapter of this study: Before The Beginning.

Well, I started right where I should have in our journey tracing events in the bible where God has lived among men. The Israelites are about to construct the first human-built dwelling for God to live among them. I started today with Exodus 25 and didn’t get very far. I got to thinking about the last commandment (thou shalt not covet), about everything God is doing in this moment. I chased those thoughts. So today’s podcast isn’t not about the place where God lives … but then, as I think about it, that is exactly what today’s podcast is about. Offerings for the Tabernacle

Exodus 25:1-8 The LORD said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give. These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood; olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

Typically when you embark on a journey to study end times in the bible you’re are bounced between Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah with a little Matthew 24 and 24. Here, though, in season 5, As we walk through the Bible landing where God interacted with His creation, we are way back at the beginning and whatever the temple of the day was, we’re still seeing the connections leap off the page straight through the cross into Revelation. Honestly, we were hoping this would happen. We wanted to take this approach because if you understand the beginning, you can almost predict the end, without ever having read it. What we did not expect to see was how soon the clues start dropping into plain sight.

Today we're continuing our journey through one of the most important themes in all of Scripture: the temple.

When most Christians hear the word temple, they think of a building in Jerusalem. Some think of Solomon's Temple. Others think of a future temple still waiting to be built. But what if the story begins much earlier than that? What if the temple was never primarily about a building at all?

In this series, we're tracing the temple from its very beginning, following the thread from Eden through Sinai, the tabernacle, the temple, Christ, and ultimately the dwelling place of God among His people.

Today we arrive at Mount Sinai. Here, before a single board of the tabernacle is cut and before a priest ever puts on sacred garments, God reveals a pattern. Boundaries. Consecration. Mediation. Access to His presence. Everything that will later become the temple system already exists on the mountain.

But Sinai is not the destination. It is a waypoint.

The mountain, the veil, the priesthood, and the sacrifices all point beyond themselves to something greater. And if we follow that trajectory carefully, we may discover that many of our assumptions about the temple—and perhaps even some of our assumptions about prophecy—need a second look.

I just watched a lengthy interview on Danny Jones podcast of Chris and Emily Bledsoe. the Title is NASA’s Forbidden Alien Study Finds Proof of Spiritual Beings | Chris & Emily Bledsoe. These are two of the most credible people discussing alien encounters I’ve ever seen. The point here is not to debunk their experience. Quite the opposite, I think we should take it very seriously. We are early in our journey tracing the trajectory of God’s direct interaction with his creation. What we’re already discovering is a very tender, very soft entry. God does not land abruptly, he lands softly and leads. Unfortunately, men don’t always listen. Still, as we track through this history, you’ll see the patience, the persistence and the love of a Father for his children.

Today, we look at the first encounter between God and Moses. With a careful reading, you’ll find this encounter more tender and softer than you might feel when you envision the burning bush.
