After alcohol ruined his military career and, some years later, his acting career, Dr. Horton tried a 12 steps program through the Veterans Administration that worked for a while. Eventually, he would go back to his addiction; he couldn't figure out what was wrong.

One day, Dr. Horton stumbled across someone who introduced him to NLP and hypnosis, and from there, everything made sense for him.

Since we are little kids, we are taught to ignore our intuition. Parents do that all the time, unknowingly, of course. Every time parents force their kids to sleep when they are not tired or eat, even when they aren't hungry, they are actually teaching those kids to ignore what their body tells them. That creates a disconnection between mind and body; it decreases our intuition's voice volume.
