Taco Palenque is an extremely successful chain of restaurants and a staple in my own life ever since I was a kid. Taco Palenque offers consistently delicious, authentic Mexican food. Founded over 50 years ago, Taco Palenque and its other spin-off restaurants started by the Ochoa family were all started on the same principles: quality, family, and passion.

One of the key members of this family-run restaurant is José Ochoa. While he started working in the family business at just 15 years old, today José serves as the Managing Owner.

In this conversation, José tells us the full story of how his father originally started the business. Then we discuss the importance of recognizing and leveraging the opportunities you find around you, the value of putting family first, setting your sights on what matters most, how they partnered up with the Spurs, and much more.

(By the way, Go Spurs Go!)

In this episode, I sit down with two of the best bareback riders in the world: 2019 PRCA World Champion Clayton Biglow and Calgary Stampede winner RC Landingham.

Together they break down what the average fan never sees behind the ride. From the injuries and mental battles to the discipline required to stay competitive year after year, this conversation explores what it really takes to build a life in rodeo. Welcome to episode three of Rock Talk: From the Ground Up. I’m your host and co-owner of Texas Rock Milling, Trey McCarty.

In this podcast, we dig deep into the foundations of growth, creativity, and the opportunity of South Texas. Our goal, as always, is to hear from inspiring people who are shaping the future of San Antonio from the ground up.

In this episode, we’re going below the surface both in construction and in conversation. We’re talking about the literal stuff everything else is built on, the stuff we stand on every day: rebar, concrete, and mud. Joining me to share his insights is a guy who isn’t just laying slabs, he’s laying down the standard.

Travis Weems has poured footings for dream homes, pads for big-time commercial builds, and he’s probably rescued a job or two that someone else tried to DIY. He’s the founder of Victory Concrete, a business built on grit, precision, and a whole lot of cement dust.

In this episode, you’ll hear what makes a solid foundation, why it’s important to pick the right property for your vision, Travis’ favorite tools to get the job done, and much more.
