  • Ep 30 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 5: Group Think: Cultural Influences
    Jan 7 2026

In Session Five of Roots Up, we examine how emotional thinking and fear can distort our perspective and lead us away from faith. Drawing from the story of the Israelites and the contrast between fear-driven narratives and faith-filled trust, we see how partial truths can discredit God when we rely on what we see instead of who He is.

The Israelites forgot that victory was never meant to be achieved in their own strength. Like Jericho, the battles ahead required God. While fear spread through the camp, Joshua and Caleb stood apart—fully aware that without the Lord, there would be no victory. They reminded the people not to rebel against God and not to fear the enemy.

Jesus echoes this truth in John 6:28–29 when He reminds us that our role is not to strive, but to believe. Faith is not a one-time act; it is a continual trust in God’s provision and promises.

This session invites us to reclaim that expectation—to live with confidence that God will provide, to resist fear, and to walk by faith, knowing that without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).

  • Ep 29 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 4: Guarding Against Idolatry: Believing God
    Dec 30 2025

In this session from our Roots Up Live Event, we explore what it means to live as faithwalkers—people called not to the patterns of this world, but to the reality of God’s upper story.

Scripture reminds us not to be conformed to the world (Romans 12:2) or to love its ways (1 John 2:15). Yet the subtle patterns of secularism, pragmatism, materialism, and relativism often shape how we think about life—and even how we think about God. In this conversation, we examine how those patterns affect our minds, our obedience, and the “boxes” we try to fit God into.

Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10 and 11, we’re reminded that we can think differently—about the world, about ourselves, and about God. Obedience is not something we manufacture on our own; it is a life of response to God, empowered by Christ Himself. As Philippians 2:12–13 tells us, we work out our salvation because God is already at work in us.

This session invites us to renew our minds by telling ourselves—and each other—the truth: God is our supply, our provision, and everything we need.

  • Ep 28 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 3: Deep into the New Testament
    Dec 16 2025

In session three of Roots Up, we take a deep dive into the New Testament, exploring passages from Acts, Romans, and Colossians.

Through Scripture and honest reflection, we consider how subtle belief systems—often absorbed without notice—can form the way we view the world and even how we understand God. A simple but searching question guides much of this conversation: What tends to make you cranky? As we sit with it, our reactions begin to reveal where our trust may be misplaced and where hidden idols can quietly take root.

This session invites us back to the clarity of God’s Word. Together, we look at how Scripture helps peel back the layers of false narratives and distorted thinking, allowing truth to come into focus once again. Rooted in the encouragement of Colossians, this conversation calls us to lift our eyes, realign our hearts, and learn again what it means to fix our minds on things above.

  • Ep 27 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 2: Deep into the Old Testament
    Dec 9 2025

In this second session from our live Roots Up weekend, we walk through Exodus 32 and look at a people who grew impatient and shaped a god they could control. Together we talk about the ways we, too, can drift toward self-made comforts when God seems slow, and the invitation to return to Him in trust and dependence.

For those wanting to continue the conversation, here is the Roots Up 2025 Booklet that is available to download. Inside are thoughtful prompts and discussion questions—perfect for personal pondering or for processing with a friend who’s listening along to these sessions with you.

  • Ep 26 // Roots Up 2025 // Session 1: Kingdom Conversations
    Dec 2 2025

This episode begins our multi-week release of live sessions from Roots Up 2025, our women’s gathering from this past October. These sessions invite you to sit with the Lord, listen slowly, and engage in the heart-level work we walked through together.

Our theme this year was A Heart Wholly Devoted, focusing on idolatry and wholehearted worship before Him. In this first session, Laura, Deb, Lori, Teresa, and Stephanie share the story behind where we ended up for Roots Up — how the Lord led, what He revealed, and where He directed their hearts as they prepared for Roots Up.

We have the booklet that we used throughout the weekend available for you to download. Please use this LINK. We highly encourage you to print it out and walk through the Scriptures, questions, and reflections with us or even alongside a sister in Christ.

  • Ep 25 // Thanksgiving: A Kingdom Preparation // Deb, Lori + Laura
    Nov 25 2025

Thanksgiving brings a flurry of preparation—cleaning, cooking, gathering—but Scripture invites us into a deeper kind of readiness. A readiness for prayer. In this episode, Laura, Deb, and Lori explore 1 Peter 4:7–8 and its call to be clear-minded and sober in spirit for the purpose of prayer. Together, they look at the inner stories and quiet narratives that often shape how we show up with our families, and how prayer interrupts those patterns and reorients us to Kingdom clarity. A grounding conversation for the week ahead.

  • Ep 24 // Growth That Comes From the Vine // Deb + Caffe
    Nov 18 2025

In this episode of Rooted + Woven, Deb and Caffe return to a question every believer wrestles with: How do we grow spiritually? Their conversation gently traces what Scripture shows us about growth—how it begins with abiding in the Vine and continues through the patient, intentional pruning of the Vinedresser.

They talk honestly about how we naturally prefer walking by sight rather than faith, and how pruning often feels like letting go of our own desires, our old patterns, and the things we think we need. Yet in that surrender, something beautiful happens: the Spirit begins to reveal His fruit in us. Not fruit we can produce by trying harder, but the true fruit of His life—love, joy, peace, and all that flows from Him alone.

Drawing from passages like Galatians 5, 2 Corinthians 12, and Philippians 3:7-14, they reflect on the sweetness of knowing Jesus right in the middle of the hard places, where His tenderness meets our weakness. Their conversation invites us to slow down, trust His work, and remember that spiritual growth is ultimately about knowing Him more deeply as He shapes us from the inside out.

  • Ep 23 // The Eternal Exchange // Deb + Laura
    Nov 11 2025

In this episode of Rooted + Woven, Laura and Deb take a closer look at the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. What began as an ordinary moment—just drawing water—became a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Together, they reflect on how He met her in her need, spoke truth with compassion, and offered living water that overflowed into her whole community. This conversation invites us to see evangelism not as a task to accomplish, but as an overflow of being known, loved, and transformed by Him.
