Aside from leading the city of Kokomo as the mayor, Tyler Moore shares how he met his wife, Ann, and how God has been working in their lives since birth. Tyler and Ann's paths crossed as they were both leading teens and seeking the wisdom of God. In hindsight, it was a divine appointment that they both were at the same event (Destination Jesus), working with their parish's youth. They both recall seeking God’s direction for their lives when they met and started down the path to their union. Now, 24 years later, they have five adult children and one grandchild on the way.

The faithfulness of God is very evident in Terri’s life. After working forty-two years at Bona Vistas, Terri became one of our Quality Control Volunteers. She and her husband David is a blessing to our team at Cross America. A lifelong friend of Crystal’s and her parents, this couple is living out the great commission. Terri’s family walked alongside the weary as they fought their own fight. There are ripples of the impact of her faithfulness in God in every generation of her sweet family.

Rev. Ruth Lawson is a humble follower of Jesus with a servant’s heart. Raised in a ‘heaven focused’ home, she is a living example of the prayers of her parents. Crossing paths with Ruth is a gift to everyone she encounters. Originally from Ashland, KY. Ruth and her husband came to Kokomo in 1983 via a few other states, to serve a local church.

She strives to be the catalyst to unite all the different churches. For 30 years, she’s help facilitate an opportunity for them to come together to serve the homeless in Howard County with C.A.M. Coordinated. Assistance. Ministries.

Another favorite 5-generation farming family is in the studio with Crystal and Jen, sharing about the different ‘seasons’ and harvests that they have experienced in their 55 years of marriage. From serving in the Great Banquet to building homes for families in Jamaica, Bill and Janet Lovelace always seem to see hope in every face they meet. They share a full circle seed planting story with Pastor Odaine Smith, a young man who met Janet on the street when he was just a small child.

Their first mission trip to Jamaica was in 2006. They built houses and served the body of Christ at schools, churches, and the CSI mission house. Bill and Janet have been deeply involved in this non-profit ministry.

Picking up where we left off after part one of this inspirational story about Taylor’s journey from a tragic accident to a triumphant victory! She clearly has defied the odds at EVERY STEP of this journey.

She started her time in recovery Grand Rapids, MI at Mary Free Bed in early June where she recovered for 181 days. Making strides and juggling setbacks never stopped Taylor and her family from believing that God was always in control. She crossed several finish lines, including walking the stage for her high school diploma (one year after the accident).

Her ability to keep learning didn’t stop there. She’s currently going to college for a degree in industrial electrical engineering. Where she will be graduating in May of 2024. Her enthusiasm, joy and light are contagious! She embodies all the reflections of her miraculous story.

What’s beautiful about this is that Taylor NEVER felt disconnected from God. She NEVER forgot who He was and what that meant to her! He was always there. How cool is that?

From tragedy to triumph! Taylor Godfrey is a living, breathing miracle – against all odds. She’s in the studio with Crystal and Jen because of what can only be described as GOD. Married to wife Linda for 53 years, this seed planter is a remarkable teacher, writer, and follower of Jesus. They have been blessed with four sons and four daughters-in-law. After 35 years as a pastor, Gary passed the pulpit in 2016, but his teaching career wasn’t over. After being an Adjunct Professor at Indiana Wesleyan for a season, he continued to create inspiring writing.

Once you plant the seed, you never know how it’s going to grow … and how it’s going to bless you!

The importance of knowing God's word comforted Gary during life’s trials is lived out in Psalm 22.

The statistics and reality of Human Trafficking is shocking. It’s about more than just sexual exploitation, it’s about forced labor and forced begging. Over 50 million people across the world are currently being trafficked and over 1/3 are children. Did you know Kokomo is considered a ‘hot spot’ in the state of Indiana? *

Listen to this difficult conversation to better understand how you can raise your awareness of what Human Trafficking is, and how it’s happening right here in Howard County. As the “Crossroads of America” we are a prime location for this to be happening here on our own soil. The same way the drug traffic flow has moved through our community.

We are thankful for this grass-roots group of women from One Church who have championed this in our community by simply asking more questions and pressing in to do more. The Intercessors for Freedom group’s hosting another informative event on Saturday, September 7 from 10 AM-noon at One Church (2734 S Washington St, Kokomo, IN 46902).
