  • The Story of God: From the Ark to Egypt — The Patriarchs & God's Unstoppable Plan | Week 2 | Save the Cowboy
    Apr 21 2026

The patriarchs of Genesis — Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph — aren't just ancient characters. They're God narrowing the whole human story down to one family with one mission, and nothing was going to stop Him. This is Week 2 of The Story of God, tracing biblical history from creation to eternity.

God shut the door on the old world and opened a new one. The cowboy doesn't quit mid-trail, and neither does God.

    In this episode:

    • What the Tower of Babel reveals about human nature — and why God's response was mercy, not just judgment
    • How Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob prove that God keeps His covenant across generations, even when His people don't deserve it
    • The Bronze Age world context that makes the patriarchs' story feel alive and historically real
    • Why Joseph in Egypt isn't a rags-to-riches story — it's God positioning an entire nation for the next chapter
    • The Big Pattern in action: Man rebels, rebels are scattered, the righteous are preserved, and God starts over

    Scripture References: Genesis 8–50

This episode is for anyone who's ever felt like God forgot His promise, lost the thread of the biblical story, or wondered how the Old Testament connects to their life right now. Saddle up — the trail goes somewhere.

  • The Story of God: Creation, the Fall & the Pattern That Changes Everything | Week 1 | Save the Cowboy
    Apr 16 2026

Six thousand years of biblical history. Ten weeks. One story. In this first message of the Story of God series from Save the Cowboy Ministry, we open Genesis 1–7 and discover that Jesus doesn't just show up in the New Testament — He's on the very first page, walking and talking with man from the moment of creation.

Four thousand years before the cross, God established a pattern that runs through every chapter of human history. Once you see it, you'll never read the Bible the same way again.

    Man Rebels…Rebels Destroyed…Righteous Saved…Start Over.

Three threads run through every week of this series:

    • Jesus walking and talking with man from Genesis forward — not symbols, but literal presence
    • The sacrifice thread that begins in Eden and ends at the cross
    • The Big Pattern of rebellion and rescue playing out in your life right now

    In this episode:

    • Why Jesus was present at creation — before Bethlehem, before the cross
    • What the knowledge of good and evil was really about — and why it still applies today
    • Why the first death in human history was an animal, not a man, and what that means
    • How God closing the door of Noah's ark tells us everything about how He still works
    • The Big Pattern in full — from Eden to the flood and what it means for you

    Scripture References: Genesis 1–7 | Genesis 7:16 | Genesis 8:21 | John 1:1–3

    This week's reading: Genesis 1–7

This is Week 1 of a 10-week series. New episodes every Sunday. Start here and ride it through to the end.

  • Exodus 12: The Passover Fulfilled — From Shadow to Savior | Save the Cowboy
    Apr 6 2026

For 1,443 years, Israel kept the Passover as a shadow — a rehearsal waiting for its fulfillment. In this 15th Anniversary message from Save the Cowboy Ministry, we open Exodus 12 and trace the blood on the doorpost all the way to the cross, discovering that Jesus fulfilled the Passover at the exact moment the temple lambs were being sacrificed in the temple.

Paul settles the matter in Colossians 2:16–17 — the feasts, the new moons, the Passover itself were "a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ." This episode is that shadow finally stepping into the light.

There is a difference between a man who owns a saddle and a man who actually rides. Israel owned the Passover for over a millennium. On one Friday afternoon in Jerusalem, God rode in.

    In this episode:

    • Why the blood on the doorpost in Exodus 12 wasn't a ritual — it was a map
    • How Jesus died at the precise moment the Passover lambs were killed in the temple
    • What the torn curtain means — the fence was knocked down, not just cracked
    • Why the Resurrection and the firstfruits offering happened at the same hour
    • How the shadow that fell on Israel for 1,443 years now covers the whole world

    Scripture References: Exodus 12:12–13, 12:15, 12:17, 12:43, 12:48 | Colossians 2:16–17

Whether you've been walking with the Lord for decades or you're just circling the gate — the bread is broken, the cup is poured, and the price has been paid in full. Come on His terms.

  • The Last Supper - Part 5
    Apr 6 2026

2,000 years ago, the King of Kings looked across the horizon of time, saw your face, and spoke your name in a prayer. Do you actually know what He asked for?

In this message, we step into the "Holy of Holies" to hear the longest recorded prayer of Jesus. Often called the High Priest’s Prayer, John 17 isn't just a religious transcript—it’s a battle plan for your life.

Jesus covers everything from His own authority to the protection of His disciples, but He ends with a "nuclear-bomb statement" that includes every single person who would ever believe through their message. That means you.

If you’re tired of dragging worldly baggage down a narrow trail, it’s time to unsaddle and ride for the right Brand.

  • The Last Supper Part 4: Hiring the Best Hand—The Holy Spirit | Save the Cowboy
    Mar 28 2026
Hiring the Best Hand: Why You Need the Spirit on Your Outfit

In this deep dive into John 16, Kevin Weatherby explores the Final Instructions of Jesus and the true role of the Holy Spirit. If your faith feels like a field of thorns, it’s time to look at the blueprints. This isn't about a mystical force; it's about a Person—the Master Instructor assigned to help you survive the winter and grow what God has planted in you.

The Blueprints for a Firm Foundation:
    • Belief vs. Faith: Belief is what you think between your ears; Faith is what you do with your hands. God saves the believer, but He rewards the faithful.

    • The Holy Spirit’s Three Roles: Learn how the Spirit convicts the world of sin, guides us into righteousness, and warns us of the judgment to come.

    • Building Your Inner Church: Your only true purpose is to grow the "mustard seed" God gave you. We discuss how to clear the thorns of repentance and replace them with a foundation built on Christ.

    • Spiritual Gifts: Understanding that your gifts aren't for your benefit—they are the tools you use to help others build their church.

Whether you are a cowboy on the ranch or a business owner in the city, understanding biblical repentance and the difference between "worldly Christianity" and an abiding relationship with Jesus is critical. Don't throw pearls to pigs—give God what is God's.

  • The Last Supper Part 3: Betrayal & The Cost of Discipleship | Save the Cowboy
    Mar 28 2026
Are You a Disciple or Just an Attendee?

In this powerful conclusion to our series, Kevin Weatherby pulls no punches regarding the final hours of Christ’s life. This isn't just a historical look at a meal; it’s a deep dive into John Chapter 15 and the three concepts that define a true walk with God: Abiding, Fruiting, and the cost of following the King[cite: 38, 47, 50].

    Key Lessons from the Message:
    • The Concept of Abiding: Understanding what it means to truly tie your life "hard and fast" to the King, becoming His shadow in everything you do[cite: 63, 65, 112].
    • What is Fruit?: Moving beyond religious activity to an authentic reflection of the Master’s faith and character[cite: 49, 77].
    • A Servant’s Heart: Learning that to love the King means loving and serving the King’s people—the broken, the poor, and the stray[cite: 90, 92, 111].
    • The Sick Pen for Sinners: Why Save the Cowboy remains a place for those "bucked off hard by life" to find a lifeline and a new purpose[cite: 5, 57, 59].

Stop playing church. It’s time to decide if you are going to stand in the corner holding a towel or step into the ring and learn the discipline of the Master[cite: 80, 82].

  • Last Supper Part 2: Watching the Rider on the Rim | Cowboy Bible Study
    Mar 12 2026
The Gathering Talk: Instructions for the Deep Brush

In this episode of Save the Cowboy, Kevin Weatherby takes us into the heart of the Upper Room discourse. Jesus is giving His disciples—and us—the ultimate gathering talk before the toughest morning of His life. If you feel like you're lost in the thick mesquite of life and can't see the outside, this message is for you.

    Persistence and Reliance

Kevin breaks down the two "footsteps" of the Christian walk:

    • Persistence: The grit to keep doing the right thing because God said so, regardless of the cost.
    • Reliance: The humble realization that your own standards will never be enough—you must lean entirely on His finished work.

Stop looking for a mansion and start looking for the Creator. There are no hiccups in Heaven, and there is no fear on the dangerous road when you keep your eyes on the Rider on the Rim.

  • The Last Supper: Love and Betrayal
    Mar 4 2026
The Last Supper: Love and Betrayal | Cowboy Bible Study

We are just 12 hours away from the crucifixion. The scene is the Passover Feast, but the atmosphere is about to change forever. In this installment of Save the Cowboy, Kevin Weatherby takes us into the room where the mightiest cowboy to ever ride prepares to become the ultimate Passover Lamb.

The "Hoof Washing": A God Who Kneels

Jesus didn't just teach humility; He lived it. When He took off His outer cloak to wash the disciples' feet, He was mirroring His entire mission. He left the throne of heaven, put on the "clothes" of a human servant, and knelt in the dirt so we could be clean.

    • Cleaning Your Boots: Being saved means you're bathed in love, but walking through this world gets your gear dirty. We discuss why confession and repentance are about cleaning your boots, not losing your salvation.
    • A Mirror of Heaven: Discover the deep symbolism behind Jesus taking off His cloak and putting it back on—the perfect picture of the Incarnation and His return to the throne.
The Snake in the Grass: Lord or Teacher?

We look at the seating chart of the triclinium and the tragedy of Judas. There is a massive difference between being a fan of Jesus and making Him your Lord. While the other disciples asked, "Am I the one, Lord?" Judas could only call Him "Teacher."

    • The Exit into Night: The moment Judas stepped away from the Light of the World and into the darkness of his own free will.
    • The Judas in Us: Most of our problems come from getting mad when God isn't who we want Him to be, rather than submitting to who He is.
    The Toughest Commandment

Jesus leaves us with a "refreshed" command: Love one another as He loved us. This isn't a suggestion; it's the proof of your Cowboy Ministry. How you treat the people you most dislike is the true test of whether you are a follower of Christ or just a faker.
