B B B B B B Side! Today we cover an actual bona fide B Side. Not a track that was unearthed twenty years later and slapped onto a deluxe edition. Not a song with another singer from a super famous couple of rock bands and not the seaside we like to be beside. It's another track from the The Miracle sessions and it was almost twelve minutes long in its original form! It's a light-hearted little Freddie jam that was cut up and put on the flip side of the Breakthru single. You might like it. You might not.

If Kev were to title this episode, I’d probably call it “Your father must have been a thief...'”, or possibly, “and I am going to catch him if it's the last thing I do. Your father's going to prison!!!!”

NOTE: Skip forward to 20:57 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The music at the end of the episode is a live version of World Turning by the brilliant Fleetwood Mac, from 1976. If you wanna watch it, you'll find it here : https://youtu.be/rcsYa6jFRoY

  • Brighton Rock
    Oct 1 2026

Seaside Pod Review does not condone booking a bus trip down to Brighton to meet your secretary in some seedy little bed and breakfast two streets back from the front behind your wife, and her husband's back and having it off like a couple of hippies in the 60s! No. We recommend you stick with your partner and only do it to them. Preferably with the lights off and your socks on. Remember, Jesus is watching your spotty white arse as it goes up and down arhythmically for 4 to 6 minutes and he's not gonna be impressed if you're pumping anyone other than the person you promised to pump exclusively in one of his ornate dwellings. Don't make Jesus cry. What's wrong with you?!

One hundred and forty nine songs down, two to go! And we’re not signing off with Brighton Rock, which is the opener from Sheer Heart Attack and today's song!

If Kev were to title this episode, they’d probably call it “Brighton Rock”, or possibly, “Hove Roll”... get it?

NOTE: Skip forward to 19:02 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The music at the end of the episode is titled "When I'm Gone" and can be found on Absofunkinlutely's Red Album, "Blues Kid City". Go check it out here; https://youtu.be/g1-vxZ38IEU

  • (He'll Never Be An) Ol' Man River
    Sep 24 2026

The last two non-Queen songs we've covered were Billie Holiday and Dolly Parton. This week's song is not like either. If you're easily offended by dark lyrics in a comedic/novelty punk-techno song that borders on poor taste, then this one likely isn't for you. We knew nothing about the band TISM and we're not sure we know a whole lot more now we've listened to then, but any way you wanna cut it, these guys are different! Very different.

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Now I'm bored", or possibly, "Mama Cass's sandwich"

The twenty eighth installment in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by that Australian troublemaker, Jason Hess. The song is "Mama Cass's sandwich" by TISM (This Is Serious Mum), a song that made Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers very angry. Then again, as well as being friends with Ricer Phoenix, Flea was also friends with noted paedophile (allegedly) Anthony Keidis, so maybe he's not the best arbiter of taste!

NOTE: Skip forward to 16:14 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The clip at the end of the episode is from the outstanding kids movie, Barnyard and features a song that Kev loves that no-one else seems to. Which is only likely to see him include it more often in the future..... You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/MghWJwQ4E18

  • In Only Seven Days
    Sep 17 2026

Another album bites the dust as we finish up Jazz and leave ourselves with only three songs on the wheel! There are more dismissals from the minifestations gauntlet of death and Randy inquires as to how Kev fared when he recently ventured out of his basement and into the wider world. There's also some chat about Iron Maiden and why we tend to go back to listen to things we've heard a million times before.

Deacy wrote two songs for Jazz. This is one of them. It's called "In Only Seven Days" and it's the second track on side two of the record.

If Randy and Kev were to title this episode, they’d probably call it “If you go on vacation, go longer than seven days; who knows what the fuck's gonna happen” or possibly, “Deacy, stop being so serious!!!”

NOTE: Skip forward to 16:35 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The music at the end of the episode is titled "Kind of Love" and can be found on The Cardinal's Black Album, properly known as "Residential Gas Leak", the last record released by Absofunkinlutely. Go check it out here; https://youtu.be/oTF2BsiemPQ

  • My Fairy King
    Sep 10 2026

To the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee, from Pincher Creek I, pod at thee! Those where the words that Randy left Kev with after the recording was over for this week's Seaside Pod Review (that's the thing you clicked on - but you probably never read this bit!) We talk about ridiculous menuing trends, the Pied Piper of Hamelin, and plenty o' Queen. There's even a little Accadacca in there for good measure!

We're back to finish up the debut album by talking about "My Fairy King"; a Freddie tune that closes Side A of the debut album. You may have heard it before.

If Kev were to title this episode, I’d probably call it “My Fairy King.” or possibly, “Would you fuck off with that damn pipe!”

NOTE: Skip forward to 22:47 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The music at the end of the episode is the brilliant "No Matter What (Always Together)"; another track from the superb debut album of Absofunkinlutely, Funk Shui. On this track, Randy is vocally assisted by Mrs. Cardinal and Oral Fuentes! You can find it here: https://youtu.be/ngO7BT6yvmo

  • Son and Daughter
    Sep 3 2026

We're going right back to the beginning as we knock the pen-pen-pen-pen-pen-penultimate song off the wheel. That's more pens than WH Smiths eh lads! Eh! EH!!! I crack me up. There's a bunch of waffle about the football (Randy is befuddled) and Captain Spreadsheet tests The Cardinal's music knowledge and finds him lacking!

Also, we talk about Brian's heaviest early track; Son and Daughter, from the debut album.

If Randy were to title this episode, I’d probably call it "Black Zeppelin" or possibly, "Buckle down and shovel some shit!"

NOTE: Skip forward to 21:41 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The music at the end of the episode is the brilliant "Falling Out of Love" from the superb debut album of Absofunkinlutely, Funk Shui. You can find it here: https://youtu.be/04rguueI8-s

  • Dolly Parton - Just Because I'm a Woman
    Aug 27 2026

The passing of Dolly Parton was unexpected and untimely.

We felt we should pay tribute to a true musical icon and a woman of huge generosity and integrity.

    RIP Dolly Parton

  • Episode 200
    Aug 20 2026

Two hundred episodes. We've mainly talked about Queen, but we've also talked about pie, cake, the weather, the church of go fuck yourself, November Rain, the dentist, soup, recording techniques, and so much more. Kev went International, Randy went to Winterpeg, Manitsfrozen. We've had ups, downs, and side to sides.

What better way to celebrate our 200th episode than bring in our pal Corey Morrissette to make sure we don't get too big for our boots and put us, very firmly, back in our place!?

As always, Corey has concocted a game that Kev is likely going to struggle with and as always, this delights Randy!

A massive thanks to everyone who took some time to leave us a message or a voice recording for this landmark - we very seriously love you all and love that we found you and have such a wonderful community.

We're almost at the end of the Queen road!

    Right?
