  • A Solo Reflection on Grief, Healing & Showing Up Anyway | Self Help Show
    Jul 16 2026

In this episode of the Self Help Show, Gina Margaret Tiger returns with a heartfelt solo reflection after a planned guest conversation with Tom Rose could not go ahead due to a technical sound issue.

Rather than cancelling the episode, Gina uses the moment as an opportunity to reflect on one of the biggest lessons in personal growth: sometimes things do not go according to plan, but we can still show up, still create meaning, and still continue the conversation.

This episode touches on grief, healing, resilience, emotional strength, and the courage it takes to keep moving forward when life shifts unexpectedly.

    Jul 9 2026

In this episode of the Self Help Show, Gina Margaret Tiger is joined by Liz Casper, a former doctor, author, and artist, for a deeply honest conversation about mental health, mania, diagnosis, compassion, and healing.

Liz shares her journey from working in medicine to experiencing mental health challenges from the patient’s side. This conversation explores what it means to understand mental health beyond labels, how stigma affects people seeking support, and why compassion is essential in both healthcare and personal healing.

Together, Gina and Liz discuss the emotional reality of mania, the courage it takes to accept help, and the process of rebuilding identity after a life-changing diagnosis. They also talk about creativity, storytelling, and the role of art and writing in making sense of difficult seasons.

This episode is for anyone who has ever felt misunderstood, overwhelmed, or curious about what healing can look like when life takes an unexpected turn.

In This Episode, We Talk About

    • Liz Casper’s journey from doctor to patient
    • What mania can feel like from the inside
    • Mental health stigma and why it still needs to change
    • The emotional side of receiving a diagnosis
    • Why mental health should be treated with compassion
    • What loved ones can do to support someone with mental health challenges

  • I Almost Gave Up… But the Self Help Show Just Turned 5
    Jul 7 2026

After six months away from the microphone, I’m finally back.

My last episode was released on December 30th, and honestly, there were moments where I thought I might not continue. Podcasting takes a lot, the planning, recording, editing, publishing, promoting, and showing up again and again. Most successful podcasts have teams behind them, and for the past five years, I’ve been doing so much of this journey on my own.

But on June 25th, the Self Help Show officially turned 5 years old.

That milestone reminded me that this work still matters. The conversations still matter. The healing still matters. The people who listen, learn, grow, and feel seen through these episodes still matter.

So this episode is a personal check-in, a comeback, and a recommitment to the journey ahead.

In this episode, I share where I’ve been, why I needed time away, what it has really taken to keep this podcast alive, and why I’m excited to continue. There are more conversations coming, more experts joining the show, and more honest reflections on healing, growth, self-love, emotional wellness, purpose, and becoming who we are meant to be.

Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been listening from the beginning or you’re just discovering the Self Help Show now.

We are still here. We are still growing. And this next chapter is going to be powerful.

In this episode, I talk about:

    • Returning to the podcast after six months away
    • What it has taken to keep the Self Help Show going for five years
    • The reality of building something meaningful without a full team
    • Why rest, reflection, and pauses can be part of the journey
    • Celebrating five years of the Self Help Show
    • What listeners can expect from the next chapter
    • Upcoming expert conversations and deeper healing topics

    Key takeaway:

Sometimes stepping away does not mean the dream is over. Sometimes it means you are gathering strength for the next chapter.

Thank you for listening to the Self Help Show.
