  • The Adventures of Tintin Retro Review // 128
    Jun 15 2026

In this adventurous (and slightly uncanny) episode of Sorry, We Tried, it is PART THREE of our SPIELBERG-ATHON, in which we've been revisiting movies from one of the most iconic filmmakers of all time, Steven Spielberg, in the lead up to his new movie Disclosure Day! This time, we're taking a look at one of his most experimental and underappreciated movies, 2011's The Adventures of Tintin! Does the weird motion capture/Polar Express-style animation ruin the movie? Is it a worthy successor to Indiana Jones? All that and more in this week's episode!

Also in this episode, Harrison cracks the case on a Mountain Dew-related conspiracy. Robby identifies his favorite earbud. Spencer becomes a human compass. And the guys discuss their hottest, most controversial topic yet — the correct way to hold your arms while you sleep.

0:00-19:07 - Mountain Dew conspiracies, sleeping positions, and random shenanigans

19:08-1:08:28 - Actual review part of the episode (if you feel like skipping everything else, I guess)

  • Backrooms Mini-Review // Is It Worth The Hype? | 127
    Jun 9 2026

In this liminal (is that how you spell that?) episode of Sorry, We Tried, we're talking about that new Backrooms movie that's all the rage! Everyone can't get enough of Kaine Parson's debut horror feature based on the classic series of custom Fortnite maps. Hold on... I'm hearing that it's actually based on a short film, which was based on a Creepypasta post. Huh. Weird. Anyways, is it worth the hype? Is it the transcendent piece of cinematic art that we've all been waiting for?

No. Well, at least we didn't think so.

Also in this episode, Robby compares Backrooms to Obsession. Harrison chickens out. Spencer fights his family. And the guys speculate about what's next for the Backrooms Cinematic Universe. (Ew— that felt gross to even type out.)

  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind Retro Review | 126
    May 25 2026

WE HAVE RETURNED! In this extra-terrestrial episode of Sorry, We Tried, we come out of hibernation (sorry about that, by the way) to continue our SPIELBERGATHON. We're going through some of iconic director Steven Spielberg's greatest hits to get ready for his new movie this Summer; this time, we talk about his groundbreaking UFO flick, Close Encounters With the Third Kind from 1977!

Also in this episode, Harrison says possibly the worst thing he's ever said. Jessie reveals one reason she quit the music industry. Spencer sees a bizarre ad on Facebook that shakes him forever. And the guys talk for probably too long about the supposed imminent release of the Spam Hot Dog — may God help us all.
