  • The Adventures of Tintin Retro Review // 128
    Jun 15 2026

In this adventurous (and slightly uncanny) episode of Sorry, We Tried, it is PART THREE of our SPIELBERG-ATHON, in which we've been revisiting movies from one of the most iconic filmmakers of all time, Steven Spielberg, in the lead up to his new movie Disclosure Day! This time, we're taking a look at one of his most experimental and underappreciated movies, 2011's The Adventures of Tintin! Does the weird motion capture/Polar Express-style animation ruin the movie? Is it a worthy successor to Indiana Jones? All that and more in this week's episode!

Also in this episode, Harrison cracks the case on a Mountain Dew-related conspiracy. Robby identifies his favorite earbud. Spencer becomes a human compass. And the guys discuss their hottest, most controversial topic yet — the correct way to hold your arms while you sleep.

0:00-19:07 - Mountain Dew conspiracies, sleeping positions, and random shenanigans

19:08-1:08:28 - Actual review part of the episode (if you feel like skipping everything else, I guess)

  • Backrooms Mini-Review // Is It Worth The Hype? | 127
    Jun 9 2026

In this liminal (is that how you spell that?) episode of Sorry, We Tried, we're talking about that new Backrooms movie that's all the rage! Everyone can't get enough of Kaine Parson's debut horror feature based on the classic series of custom Fortnite maps. Hold on... I'm hearing that it's actually based on a short film, which was based on a Creepypasta post. Huh. Weird. Anyways, is it worth the hype? Is it the transcendent piece of cinematic art that we've all been waiting for?

No. Well, at least we didn't think so.

Also in this episode, Robby compares Backrooms to Obsession. Harrison chickens out. Spencer fights his family. And the guys speculate about what's next for the Backrooms Cinematic Universe. (Ew— that felt gross to even type out.)

  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind Retro Review | 126
    May 25 2026

WE HAVE RETURNED! In this extra-terrestrial episode of Sorry, We Tried, we come out of hibernation (sorry about that, by the way) to continue our SPIELBERGATHON. We're going through some of iconic director Steven Spielberg's greatest hits to get ready for his new movie this Summer; this time, we talk about his groundbreaking UFO flick, Close Encounters With the Third Kind from 1977!

Also in this episode, Harrison says possibly the worst thing he's ever said. Jessie reveals one reason she quit the music industry. Spencer sees a bizarre ad on Facebook that shakes him forever. And the guys talk for probably too long about the supposed imminent release of the Spam Hot Dog — may God help us all.

  • Pickles, Drag Racing, and the Filet-O-Fish // Free Talk Friday | 125
    Mar 30 2026

In this fast and furious episode of Sorry, We Tried, it's Free Talk Friday— the part of the show where we take a break from reviewing a movie and talk about whatever nonsense we feel like. Yes, we know the episodes come out on Monday and not on Friday. That's part of the joke. On the menu this time — our worst driving stories, an update on the incoming surveillance state, and Jessie's impassioned defense of the McDonald's Filet-O-Fish. All that and more on this week's episode! Listen to it if you want the whole thing. I won't spoil it all here, because that'd be bad for business.

Also in this episode, Harrison witnesses the dumbest car accident of all time. Robby explains his hatred for Chick-Fil-A pickles. Spencer finally learns how right-of-way works. And the guys break their silence and tell the story they've waited years to tell (because they didn't want their parents to find out). It's a good one!

  • Catch Me If You Can Retro Review | 124
    Mar 16 2026

In this blockbusting episode of Sorry, We Tried, IT'S TIME FOR A NEW REVIEW SERIES! After tackling the DCEU and a selection of spy movies last year, we're diving deep into the filmography of one of film's greatest directors — Steven Spielberg! For part 1 of our "Spielbergathon," we watched the 2002 classic Catch Me If You Can, starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks! I don't really know how else to hype the episode up here. Let's be real, though, are you really looking for me to sell you on the episode at this point in the description? You either clicked or you didn't. Obviously, I hope you clicked and stay for the episode, but I can't tell you what to do either way. I'm not your Mom (as far as you know).

Also in this episode, Harrison takes Robby's job. Robby vents his frustrations about missing the Casino Royale episode last year. Spencer laments the lack of spambots in our DM's. And the guys answer the age-old question: How did Frank cheat to pass the bar in Louisiana? (I hope you read that in Tom Hanks' silly accent.)

  • F1, Halftime, and The Enchilada Incident // Free Talk Friday | 123
    Feb 23 2026

This time on SWT, it's the grand return of Free Talk Friday! After the highs of last week's Valentine's Day special (go and listen to it if you haven't already), the guys take some time to debrief everything that happened while they were frozen inside their houses for a week. On the menu for today — a major kerfuffle at Robby's family Super Bowl party; the incredible fun of working in home renovation during a catastrophic deep freeze; a quick discussion about Heaven and Hell (light stuff); and much, much more! Stay tuned to the end for a SURPRISE special guest appearance from someone you may know >:)

Also in this episode, Harrison gets too curious for his own good. Robby has a mid-episode vomit scare. Spencer rants about corruption at the Oscars. And the guys take their first listener phone call from a surprise special guest. Did I tease that one already? I think I did. I just really want to hype up our first listener phone call. Is that so bad? I mean, how many of you even read this far into the description anyway? I could really say anything I want down here and no one would ever notice. We're reviewing Catch Me If You Can next episode — can you believe it? It'll be the first movie of our Steven Spielberg director series. Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise or something, but if you're still reading, you're a real one. Real ones get rewarded. Anyways, go listen to the episode or whatever.

WE'RE BACK! Now that the southern United States has thawed out from the big freeze, we're here with a special Valentine's Day-themed episode... a week late. Look, we tried, okay? The important thing is — we pulled a bunch of wacky relationship advice questions from Reddit, and we're here to offer our UNQUESTIONABLE SAGE WISDOM to solve strangers' deepest life problems. Also in this episode, Harrison gets blunt about smell. Robby offers a hidden Aztec blessing. Spencer misses all of the signals. And the guys crack open the Polio jar.

  • The 2025 Grizzly Awards // Best and Worst From The Big 25
    Jan 12 2026

HAPPY NEW YEAR! This time on Sorry, We Tried, all the stars are here to celebrate a fantastic year for movies and TV. Okay, I lied. None of the stars are here. Unless you count the three of us "stars" — in which case, thank you, you're too kind. IN ANY CASE, this is our annual award show to crown the best, worst, and weirdest. In a year with absolute bangers like Superman and Ice Cube War of the Worlds, which one will take home the crown?

Also in this episode, Robby makes a mistake that keeps him up at night. Harrison's nominee for best movie of the year stirs up some controversy. Spencer shares a heartbreaking eulogy for the New York Times mini crossword. And the guys fiercely debate over whether they’ve achieved “unc” status.
