• Texas Dem Says Bible "Never Mentions" Abortion or Gay Marriage
    Feb 22 2026

Does the Bible really have "nothing to say" about abortion or homosexuality? Did Jesus teach that salvation comes simply by "treating people well"?

That's what Texas State Representative and U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico claimed on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert"—and his comments have sparked an important conversation among believers.

In this episode of Soulful Scriptures Everyday, we open the Word together and explore:

📖 What does the Bible actually say about these topics?

📖 What did Jesus mean in Matthew 25 when He spoke about feeding the hungry and welcoming the stranger?

📖 Are we saved by good works—or by grace through faith?

📖 How do we understand Jesus' command to "love God and love neighbor" in today's political climate?

📖 What is "Christian nationalism," and is it a betrayal of Christ?

We also reflect on House Speaker Mike Johnson's response, who reminds us that biblical commands to individuals may look different for civil authorities called to maintain order (Romans 13).

Based on reporting by Jon Brown for The Christian Post, this episode doesn't claim to have all the answers. Instead, we gather as brothers and sisters in Christ to humbly search the Scriptures together—because iron sharpens iron, and we need each other to stay rooted in truth.

Join us for a thoughtful, grace-filled conversation about faith, politics, and what Jesus actually said.

And stay until the very end. We close with a worship song called "Revival" by Papercastle —a reminder that His truth is our foundation when the world's voices grow loud.

  • Catholic Sisters Rescuing Abuse Survivors in Indonesia | Soulful Scriptures Everyday
    Feb 20 2026

On the Indonesian island of Flores—the nation's only Catholic-majority region—a quiet revolution of mercy is underway.
For over two decades, the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit and the Divine Word Missionaries have run TRUK F, the only shelter in Maumere dedicated solely to empowering women and children escaping domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. Founded in 1997 by the late Sr. Eustochia Monika Nata, this Catholic-led organization has helped thousands of survivors find safety, healing, and hope.
In this episode of Soulful Scriptures Everyday, we share the stories of women like Evi Bota Sao, who after 20 years of abuse finally found the courage to leave—because someone believed her. And Maria Herlina Mbadhi, whose husband died after being trafficked to a palm oil plantation, leaving her to raise four children alone. And a 17-year-old incest survivor, cast out by her village shaman, who now finds safety in the shelter's care.
Based on reporting by Chris Herlinger for National Catholic Reporter, this deep dive explores how faith, compassion, and accompaniment are transforming lives in a patriarchal society where violence against women is often normalized. The sisters don't judge. They don't force decisions. They simply walk alongside the broken—and help them become "new women."
Join us for a powerful episode about courage, survival, and the Church showing up when it matters most.

  • Brave Catholic Nuns vs. The Mines: Rescue of Child "Wives" in South Africa's Coal Belt
    Feb 18 2026

Deep in the coal mining city of Emalahleni, South Africa—the "place of coal"—a hidden crisis is unfolding beneath the earth and behind closed doors.

Girls as young as 14 are being coerced into becoming "mine wives," forced into sexual relationships with illegal miners in exchange for food, rent, and survival. Boys abandon school to work underground, disappearing into a shadow economy controlled by armed syndicates. Poverty, abandoned mines, and failed systems have created a pipeline of abuse where children are treated as expendable.

But in the darkness, light breaks through.

Catholic religious sisters are risking their lives to pull children out. They walk into informal settlements, run unmarked safe houses, and accompany survivors through trauma and recovery—often without state protection and under intimidation from both police and criminal networks.

This episode's deep dive is based on the investigative reporting of Doreen Ajiambo for Global Sisters Report, who traveled to Emalahleni, spoke with survivors, and documented the courageous work of sisters like Holy Cross Sr. Sophia Phiri and Sr. Dominica Mkhize. We are grateful for her journalism, which brings this hidden story to light.

You'll hear the stories of survivors like Lesedi, who escaped the mines and rebuilt her life because someone intervened.

This is not history. This is happening now. And the Church is on the front lines.

Join us for a heart-wrenching yet hope-filled conversation about faith in action, the cost of accompaniment, and the courageous nuns standing between children and the abyss.

  • Christian Boy, 13, Denied Burial by Villagers in Odisha, India: "We Felt Very Helpless"
    Feb 17 2026

In a tribal village in Odisha, eastern India, a 13-year-old boy died after a long illness. His family's grief turned to horror when their own neighbors—including relatives—blocked them from burying him.

The boy, whose name has not been released, was from the small Christian community in a village of about 250 families. For generations, Christians and Hindus had used the same burial ground. But not anymore.

Tensions had been rising for weeks. The Hindu majority demanded that a small Christian prayer hall—used since 2008—be relocated. A seven-day Hindu ceremony was planned, and a religious leader reportedly insisted the church must move. The prayer hall had been shut down in late January to keep the peace.

    Then the boy died.

When his father tried to bury him, villagers blocked the path to the cemetery. Even after police and local officials stepped in, the family was forced to bury their 13-year-old on their own private land—not in consecrated ground with their community. They had to wait 20 hours. They had to sign a paper promising not to put any Christian symbol on the grave.

The father's words haunt: "Whatever happened was inhuman. We felt very helpless."

This is not a story from centuries ago. This happened in February 2025 in Odisha, one of India's poorest states—and a region with a history of violent attacks against Christians. It's a window into the quiet persecution faced by believers in parts of India today: not always violence, but exclusion. Humiliation. Being told your dead don't belong.

In this episode of Soulful Scriptures Everyday, we share this family's pain, pray for the boy's soul, and reflect on what it means to be denied even a place to rest.

  • SHOCKING ! Pakistani court hands 13-year-old Christian girl to alleged kidnapper husband
    Feb 16 2026

A Pakistani court has awarded custody of a 13-year-old Christian girl to the man who kidnapped her, forcibly converted her to Islam, and married her—despite her official birth record proving she is a minor.

Maria Shahbaz was abducted on July 29. Her parents have been fighting for her return ever since. But this month, a two-judge bench of Pakistan's newly constituted Federal Constitutional Court rejected her government-issued birth certificate and ignored earlier court findings that the marriage was illegal. The man who took her now has legal custody of her.

Her father, Shahbaz Masih, is heartbroken. His lawyer tells reporters that police failed to arrest the suspect, who moved freely through the courts without fear—pointing to possible collusion. Even the investigating officer confirmed no marriage record existed at the union council. The court dismissed it all.

This is not just a legal failure. It is a human tragedy unfolding in real time—and a stark reminder of the persecution faced by Christian minorities in Pakistan.

In this episode of Soulful Scriptures Everyday, we share Maria's story, pray for her safety, and ask the hard questions: Where is justice? Where is the Church? And how do we, as believers, respond when the powerless are abandoned by the very systems meant to protect them?

  • 7 Nuns vs. The Vatican: A Story of Deception, Desperation & Seeking Truth
    Feb 15 2026

What happens when cloistered nuns publicly break with the Roman Catholic Church, reject the Pope as a "heretic," and face eviction by court order? In this episode of Soulful Scriptures Everyday, we dive deep into the shocking true story of the Poor Clares of Belorado, Spain—16 nuns who, in May 2024, split from the Vatican, declared all post-Vatican II doctrines invalid, and placed themselves under an excommunicated sect leader.

Now, only seven remain. The oldest is 61. They face eviction on March 12, 2025, from the monastery they've called home for decades. Behind them? A trail of closed chocolate shops, illegal dog-breeding operations, gold sold for €121,000, and five elderly nuns—ages 87 to 100—rescued by Civil Guard. Ahead of them? A legal battle involving the Holy See, criminal investigations, and a desperate plea to the Spanish people for a new convent.

But beneath the headlines, we ask the deeper questions: What drives a soul to leave the Church? Where is the line between conscience and rebellion? And how do we, as believers, discern truth when authority itself seems to crumble?

Join us for a sobering, prayerful reflection on obedience, deception, and the state of the modern Church. Plus, a gospel message on what it truly means to build your house on the Rock.

  • Miracle Survival: Widowmaker Heart Attack Testimony – God's Divine Delays and Supernatural Peace (Ken's True Story)
    Feb 14 2026

In 2018, Ken survived a deadly widowmaker heart attack—often with only a 12% survival rate outside advanced care—through a series of "delays" that proved to be God's miraculous protection: a dead phone, long ER wait, misdiagnosis, and construction forcing extra time. Amid childhood trauma and claustrophobia, he experienced absolute peace, sent his wife home to rest, and walked out with a stent—back in church days later. This inspiring faith testimony shows how God turns setbacks into salvation, grants unshakeable peace in crisis, and extends life for raising grandchildren in Jesus' name. A powerful reminder: God's timing is perfect, and miracles still happen today

Have you experienced a miracle? Did Jesus or Mother Mary visit you in a dream, a near-death experience, or a moment of desperation? Your testimony could be the very message someone needs to hear.
