When did you last actually rest? Not scroll. Not catch up on laundry. Actually rest.

In this episode of Sweet Insights: The Invisible Mom, Alison and Amy get honest about the habit so many busy women share, filling every quiet moment with something else, and why doing nothing can feel more uncomfortable than doing everything.

Amy just got back from Disney World and a solo work trip, and shares what she did differently this time that actually felt restful. Alison opens up about the moment she realized she was watching the news on her laptop while sitting in a bath with Epsom salts and essential oils, and why that was the wake-up call that changed how she approaches rest entirely.

You will also hear the story of a mom who went to Costco on autopilot and filled her cart with her grown son's favourite foods, and why that moment says everything about how deeply we lose ourselves in being needed.

In this conversation you will hear:

• Why being needed gives so many women their sense of identity and purpose
• What happens when the busyness stops and you do not know who you are without it
• How multitasking became something we were praised for and why it is quietly draining us
• Why rest does not have to look like meditation on a pillow
• The simple daily nuggets that can help you find quiet without needing a weekend away

Plus Alison has a laughing fit that nearly ends the episode. You will want to watch this one on YouTube.

We see you.

Welcome to Season 4 of Sweet Insights with Alison and Amy.

This season, we are talking about something so many moms feel but rarely say out loud: the experience of being the invisible mom.

Not invisible in a dramatic way. In the quiet, daily way. The way it feels when you are the driver, the chef, the cheerleader, the emotional sounding board, and the one who keeps the whole household running, while somehow still ending up at the bottom of the list.

In this first episode, Alison and Amy open up the conversation with honesty and a lot of warmth, sharing the everyday moments that have made them feel unseen, and the surprising realizations that came when they looked at those moments more closely.

You will hear:

• Why teenagers have a way of making moms feel invisible without meaning to
• The silent couch experiment Alison tried with her son (and why it worked)
• Why the car is one of the best places for real conversations with your kids
• How the stories we tell ourselves about being invisible can spiral if we are not careful
• The important distinction between feeling invisible and simply being less needed as your kids grow up
• Why texting has become an unexpected bridge for emotional conversations in modern families
• The beauty of modelling apologies to your children

This season, Alison and Amy will explore the deeper emotional layers underneath the invisible mom experience, from stress and resentment to identity loss and burnout. Because this is about more than just feeling taken for granted. It is about what it costs a woman to carry so much while still showing up with so little left for herself.

We see you.
