We'll dive into Nehemiah's story more next time. Today, let's look at some of the builders who were helping rebuild the wall and the significance of repairing what was in front of their own homes first. You cannot build a firm foundation on old rubble! And, sometimes we need to be prepared to build the Kingdom of God with a sword in one hand and a trowel in the other. I hope you're encouraged today to invite the Lord into any rubble that may be keeping you from rebuilding what He has for you!

I recently had a conversation with some fellow leaders, and I want to share that and my answer today because I think it's good to pause and remember. I hope that as you listen, you will think back on the moment that YOU chose to follow Jesus. OR maybe you're not there yet- please hear me when I say, I was in the lowest, darkest place emotionally and mentally. I'm so thankful for the moment God spoke to me and led me into peace and freedom like I had never known before. It's easy to go through the motions, but each one of us -if we sit and think- has an encounter that changed everything! What's yours?

As we cover the Names of God, we have to highlight Jehovah Raah. In this episode, we dive into one use of Raah in Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd! But Raah doesn't just mean "shepherd" in Hebrew... it also means friend.

David made this such a personal Psalm, and as we dig into it- line by line- I hope we each make it a declaration and a decision of our own as well! He is MY shepherd. He brings rest and rescue. He provides for all I need, and I will not be afraid.

The story of God our Provider. Many are familiar with the story of Abraham and Isaac and the parallels to the story of God sending His Son. Abraham takes his one and only son to Mt Moriah, where Jesus later will be crucified. Isaac carries the wood for the altar, much like Jesus carried His own cross. And while Abraham sees a ram as the substitute for Isaac, God sends Jesus AS the substitute for US! He took on death and the grave for you and for me. And even now, one thing remains the same- God is asking Abraham (and us) to trust the Promiser more than the promise.

I heard my friend Nikkita's testimony and immediately knew this would resonate with so many of you, like it did with me. Nikkita's story is one of forgiveness, healing, restoration, and continued pursuit of a loving God. I've heard the quote, "you can't control how people treat you, but you can control how you react to it". In this episode, you'll hear how Nikkita chose, and still chooses, a surrendered life of love towards those who caused pain, and how God truly does bring beauty from brokenness! Jehovah Rapha - I am God, your Healer. This story, found in Exodus 15, can hit close to home for any one of us. God turns bitter water sweet, and gives an "IF/THEN" statement that still holds weight and value today! "If you do this, then I will do this." Healing comes in many forms- don't miss Him.

The Lord is Peace. The meaning of Shalom is that through God, we can have a sound mind. Often we think of God as an authority just waiting to strike judgement on us; but through this story of Gideon's encounter, we see that God is there and waiting to reveal Himself to Gideon in order to strengthen and encourage him in rescuing Israel from their oppressors.
