The Greek word "splachnizomai," which literally means to be moved in your guts or bowels, describing that deep internal conviction to help others. Through examples from Jesus' ministry - feeding the 5,000, healing the leper, and raising the widow's son - we saw how true compassion combines both heart and hands. The message challenged us to examine what blocks our compassion (busyness, judgment, and fear) and called us to start small by serving our neighbors. We were also introduced to the incredible work of Compassion Australia, which partners with local churches to release children and families from extreme poverty through sponsorship.
