Toronto Maple Leafs blow a two-goal lead in the third period and lose in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres, and this one is all on Jim Hiller. We break down Hiller sitting Gavin McKenna for a period and a half in favour of the fourth line, his horrendous postgame explanation and why we’re officially worried about him behind the bench. We also get into the John Tavares injury, an off night for Sergei Bobrovsky and Kirill Marchenko’s best game in a Leafs sweater getting completely overlooked.

Our Toronto Maple Leafs are exactly who we thought they were: a high-powered offence with arguably the worst blue line in the league, and a team that needs good goaltending to win, which they didn’t get from Anthony Stolarz in Tuesday’s loss to the Utah Mammoth. We discuss why there’s no easy fix for the blue line, whether the Matthew Knies for Kirill Marchenko trade deserves some criticism and William Nylander being one of the most underrated players in the NHL, before wrapping up today’s episode with a lap around the league.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are must-see TV right now. With Auston Matthews and William Nylander firing on all cylinders, the Leafs captured 3 of 4 points against Vegas and Colorado, and we break down a team being led by its best players. We also get into Gavin McKenna looking better and better every day, why John Tavares should no longer be on PP1 and Sergei Bobrovsky holding down the fort. From there we talk about the Leafs losing Chris Tanev to injury and what realistic improvements to the blue line look like, before wrapping up today’s episode by kicking some tires.
