What's your One Photo? We all have one.

The one you'd grab if your house were on fire.

The photo that's lived in your wallet for years.

The one that always makes you laugh.

The one you could stare at forever, even if it hurts.

The one that reminds you who you are or where you came from.

Welcome to That One Photo, home of heartfelt conversations with everyday people about our most treasured family photographs.

Each episode begins with a single image and unfolds into a conversation about family, memory, loss, joy, personal identity, and love.

Host Laura Richards is a Virginia-based family photographer with over a decade of experience. With a deep love for her own sacred family photos, particulary those from her childhood, Laura is exploring how images from our past help shape who we are and how we see our world.

  • Legacy, Traditions, and the Beauty of Intentional Living

Hi, my name is Laura Richards, and I’m the host of That One Photo, the home of heartfelt conversations with everyday people about their most treasured family photos.

I’m a family and newborn photographer in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is my 10th year in business. I photograph families on film, and to me, film is the beating heart of sincere family imagery. It helps create more meaning, show up to sessions with more intentionality, and just gives my clients a little bit of nostalgia when they see their photos, knowing that their family photos in 2026 were created on the same format as they were in 1996 during their own childhood.

I also have a background in journalism, so this project really feels like going back to my roots. I have talked to people about everything from homelessness and immigration to beards and wine.
